We are so glad that we chose Villa Alta for our family holiday this year. The photos of the view on the website are beautiful but the reality is breathtaking. The pool is amazing and the apartment is cool, clean and very well equipped. The sunset (and moon rise) over the mountains, sea and monaco is unbelievable. Connie and Emanuele were wonderful hosts, very discrete but always there to help when needed. We had some unforgettable day trips to Apricale, Rocchetta, Hanbury Gardens, Villefranche-sur-mer, Bordighera, Eze and of course Dolceacqua. All were easily accessible which was perfect for younger children with less patience. Would particularly recommend 'La reserve' in Bordighera (food and views) and Casa e Bottega and I Gumbi da u Zena in Dolceacqua. Also a very good supermarket in Camporosso which is about 15 mins from house. We can't recommend Villa Alta highly enough and long to return.

“Amazing views, amazing holiday apartment”
Reviewed 24 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We have had a wonderful week at Villa Alta. Connie and Emanuele are the very friendly and approachable owners.
The apartment is very well presented and very clean. The furniture and TV etc are very good quality. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well every night.
The area is very peaceful and it is amazing swimming in the pool and looking down to Monaco and France.
The apartment is well situated for visits to Menton, Monaco, Sanremo and other wonderful villages in Italy and France.
We swam at Bordighera, which is only a few minutes away by car. This is a blue flag beach and was clean and you can choose the free areas or pay for a sun lounge.
We plan to return and wished we had booked for another week.

“Wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The views from the villa are incredible on all sides. And it is actually on the Alta Via. The apartment is fantastic - clean and fully equipped and comes with Lovely welcome pack. Only downside is narrow road up the mountain (worth it for location) but no good if you don't like driving.

“Look no further - a gem!”
Reviewed 5 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The pictures of this villa are amazing but in real life it is even better - fabulous views in a truly peaceful setting. The villa is so well appointed with everything you will need, immaculately clean and you'll be spoilt for little extras. Connie and Emmanuel are excellent hosts, there when we needed them (extra bag of pasta to feed us after our long drive) but really discrete so we felt we had the place to ourselves. The pool was great, lots of levels to follow the sun but shade too. We took the recommendations for a local restaurant and a train journey to Monte Carlo ( worth it for the view along the coast ) but most of the time we made us of the fab weather and the pool. Air conditioning, English channels, good Wifi and DVD player meant for happy teenagers when they needed to get out of the sun. Can't recommend highly enough - best villa we have ever stayed in!!

“Stunning views, a great pool and a lovely, well equipped airconditioned apartment.”
Reviewed 28 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We have just finished a 2 weeks stay at Villa Alta and where not disappointed at all and have had a great vacation. The apartment is very well equipped and has basically everything that you could wish for. The airco works very well and was very welcome with the very sunny and warm weather that we where blessed with (everyday plus 31deg)
The pool area and patios are fantastic along with the stunning views. Connie and Emanual where perfect hosts and where very helpful when needed. The way up to the villa is indeed steep and takes some getting used to but after a few trips up and down does get easier.
We made several trips to various places in the area (San Remo, Monaco, Menton, Apricala,), all where very enjoyable and qua distance close by, but the roads where extremely busy so be prepared to get stuck sometime in traffic along the way. Dolceacqua which on the contrary was easy to get to was one of our favourite places to vist in the mornings for a good cup of coffee and to eat there in the evenings and well worth a visit. Also the old square at Comporosso was a great place to have coffee and mingle with the locals.
I also went Canyoning with my 2 teenage boys at Rocchetta Nirvinia which was quite vigorous and not for the faint hearted but was a fantastic way to spend a full morning. Our guides (Jean Pierre and Stephen) where excellent and it was well worth the expense (65€ pp) Emanual was very helpful helping me to arrange this adventure.
At the bottom of the hill are 2 good supermarkets and also a good pizzeria (dal Alfio) which served great pizza at a very reasonable price combined with friendly service. In Ventimiglia there are many good restaurants but it was extremely difficult to find parking and we found the best bet was by the train train station.
All in all, we had a great vacation. Pictures on the site do not do the place justice and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a a place of tranquility but close enough to visit other places in the vicinity.
