“Our house for our guests”

I came to Saint Lucia in February 2017 and rented this house for 8 of my guests, and my husband and I stayed two nights. We stayed at the Sandals Resort after the two days of stay at the Sun and Breeze Villa. The villa was absolutely adorable and we wished we stayed longer with our guests at this home. It was very clean, big open space and the pool was great at night as well as in the day. We are in the process of renting the home again the same time in 2018. Anne O. was super accommodating and was very informative. Besides the steep driveway, the location was perfect and can't wait to go back again. See you soon Saint Lucia!

xx Cathy

“Relaxing break”

Fab place to chill out! I stayed at this lovely villa with some friends in March and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. The view was amazing and after some great nights out at the buzzing local bars & restaurants by the beach (lovely warm, clear water) and the marina, we all relaxed and spent a few nights in cooking & watching the sun go down. We slept really well and were even up early to do aerobics by the pool! The house is great for big parties as there are 4 large bedrooms - we had loads of space. It was my first time in St Lucia and it was as hot as India and the rain showers could be just as dramatic - you only need a cardigan for the evenings. Zan the agent was on hand when we needed any advice about a transfer or taxi and where to go. There is a local housekeeper who was really lovely & met us on the first day checking we had everything we needed. The hill is very steep on the way up (walking is not recommended!) but our 4x4 managed brilliantly as it did getting us around St Lucia – although there is only one road! There is lots to do & we did everything we wanted – there are 3 good beaches within a few minutes’ drive, lots of shops and restaurants, and a great Spa that we went to. My favourite beach was pigeon island, as it has opportunity to be in the shade as well as the sun & there is the view of the Atlantic coastline there too. The days flew by and I went home refreshed & relaxed. I would definitely come back to St Lucia and this lovely home. Thank you all at Sun & Breeze

“Not what I expected”
Reviewed 8 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Booked this villa for my family to stay in while we visited for my brothers memorial.. in the initial booking all seemed well until we got there, there was someone staying upstairs in the property, the stairs to the pool where unsafe for kids, elderly and disabled people, the pool was filthy... there was a huge step over and into the veranda. In my initial booking I said my mother had mobility issues and we later found out the property was totally unsuitable for at least 4 family members so we didn't stay there as it's was stressful anyway being there for my brothers memorial then not having accessible accommodation was too much after a 9 hour flight.
After explaining to the host Annie we had to find alternative accommodation and tried to discuss a refund she has made no attempt to compromise. So ended up having to contact trip advisor to assist in the recovery of the refund due to the fact we didn't stay in the property at all.
So the trip was even harder than I had ever imagined and I'm still waiting for the discussion of a refund to begin.

Dear Saskia. Thank you for your comments and your story about our family house with an excellent rating to date. I have asked for this review to be removed by trip advisor as we belive it is unfair and inconsistent with the other feedback received from our wonderful customers over the last 6 years. I am sorry that you arrived and had not read fully the details about the house. We supply these on the website and have a phone service that is available (that you used) where future customers are able to ask us anything about the property. We were unaware that 2 of your party were disabled and therefore a house on a steep hill with a fantastic view was very unsuitable for them. The house is not suitable for people with severe mobilty issues. I am sad that you did not discuss this with us on the telephone when we discussed exactly how people were able to get to the pool eg using the slope as opposed to the stairs as there are 2 access points to the pool just for this reason - one may prefer a slope instead of stairs. We do not indicate that the house is suitable for disabled persons which is an option on the trip advisor website. This indicates that the house is unsuitable for persons with severe mobility issues although we will look into what adjustments we can make to our house so that perhaps we could offer this in future. We did not mislead you and we regret that you decdied to change your mind about the house on the day you arrived, so that you could stay at one of your uncles properties nearby for free. The pool was sparkling as it was just cleaned that morning by Glen the pool cleaner and was not as you describe - the pool has been maintained by Glen for over 4 years and the pool team visit 3-4 times each week and always on the morning of an arrival to ensure it is pristine. The housekeeper is always present on the arrival day to ensure that someone is at the property to check if anything is required by our guests eg more linen or pool towels - this is perfectly normal for a meet and greet in our property. We assume this is what you mean by "living upstairs" - there is a seperate area in our house for linen, cleaning materials and spare beds etc. We are very upset that you have decided to mark our property as a one star. We feel that this is very unfair and that the accuracy of your review is questionable. In light of the fact that you changed your mind on the day of arrival in the knowledge that we had turned away another client and after deciding that your Uncle would allow you to stay for free at one of his rental properties, we feel that you are not being completely fair about this well maintained and cared for home. We spoke just 2 days ago in detail about your decision and even offered you a gesture of goodwill rebate (supported by Trip Advisors agents) so we are very surprised by the comments you have written. We hope that you think carefully about using other properties on Holiday Lettings as the key information is on the website. If you have specific requirements it is advisable to discuss them in advance of arriving at the properties and not waiting until the day you arrive.

“Honeymoon at Summmerbreeze”
Reviewed 17 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

5 Star serviced villa (we asked for service) - collected at airport and met by Hans ready with cold flannels, his mum's rum punch and water. Journey from airport was made interesting with Hans stopping off at view points along the way and treating us to freshly baked bread and cheese from a stall at the side of the road. Hans works for Serenity and we would recommend you contact them on ambassador@serenitytvl.com if you require this service.

We were then met at the villa by Nina who greeted us with flowers and fizz. Nina checked on us without intruding to make sure we had everything wee needed. She booked us on a trip that we wanted to go on.

We had a fantastic day and met some wonderful people. We went to the sulphur springs and caked each other in mud. we went snorkelling on way back which was amazing. More rum punch.

At the villa we had everything we could possible need including towels for the pool and a pool to swim in every morning before breakfast and in the afternoon to cool down. The kitchen in the villa was equipped with everything we could possibly want and the pool and garden are enclosed so as to give privacy.

we were given recommendations for where to eat and places to visit and couldn't have wished for better.

Thank you so much for everything we will certainly recommend you and we certainly want to come back !!!!!! if you will have us. Perhaps we can bring more family with us as there is plenty of room.

“Nice House”
Reviewed 5 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

To start off, The house is at the north end of the island. We actually found that to be very convenient. A lot of the things to do were in that general vicinity and when they weren't we had a nice drive through the mountains. The road to the house is horrible, especially one particular section. You don't necessarily need a 4X4 but it does help. All 4 bedrooms are nice sized with bathrooms in them. The living/dining/kitchen area is one great room. There is a nice balcony that looks out over the pool and the Atlantic Ocean. You reach the pool area by going down a flight of stairs. The pool could use a bit of work. There were chips out of the cement texture that didn't affect the use of it, but it didn't look very nice. The lounge chairs were functional but looked to be on their last leg. There were only 2 pool cushions and one of them had stuffing poking out. The pool guy was just about invisible. You could tell that he didn't come as often as he was supposed to. The grounds were very well kept and looked quite nice. The kitchen had all the basic utensils that you would need. A blender would have been nice but it wasn't a necessity. If at all possible stop at the market on your way in. There are a few ice trays there but I would just skip them and buy ice. You will go through a lot. We bought a bag a day for the freezer and a bag for the cooler. There is not a TV there which is alright but I would have liked to listen to the news a little in the evening or at least stream a movie. Bring any games that you would like to play. There is nothing there, not even a deck of cards. When you go to the market make sure yo pick up mosquito coils. There aren't screens on the balcony doors or the front door and if you keep them closed you will die of heat. We found that a coil in the living room area and one in each bedroom helped keep them down to a tolerable level. The furniture in the living area is more suited to an outside patio area. I understand why it's there but it's not very comfortable. The beds are very comfortable which actually surprised us. We had no problems sleeping. In one of the bedrooms there is an air conditioner that we tried to get to work but it never happened. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom which help tremendously. We did find a stand fan in a closet to use in the living room area. There aren't any fans in there which is odd because the stove/oven is all of 3 feet from the table so that makes for some very hot sitting if a meal is being cooked. There is no washer and dryer there so you will either have to wash some things by hand and hang out on the balcony or make arrangements at the Rodney Bay Marina which is not to far away. Bring a couple of insulated cups with you, that will help with keeping drinks cold and you can make your own drinks instead of buying from a beach vendor. We did a few times but I found that purchasing alcohol at the store is much cheaper. The locally made rum is quite good. We rented a vehicle so that made coming and going quite easy. There is only one main road and it was actually kind of hard to get lost. There are side roads but they usually end up taking you back to the main road. All in all I would recommend this place if you're budgeting a bit. It's nothing fancy but it does get the job done. The managers at the time Keith and Anne were fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed talking to them and they were quite willing with any questions we had.

Dear Edna & Family Thank you so much for the feedback which we discussed when you were in the villa. I am delighted that the road has been totally resurfaced & is transformed - it is smooth and a joy to use! Because of your feedback the washing machine and dryer are relocated. We totally understand that even though we did the service washes for you, it was not what you would have preferred. We had only just built the new kitchen so we really appreciate the feedback which has enabled us to adjust the facilities to maximise enjoyment in the future. The top tips for visitors are also very helpful thank you. You were lovely guests and we thank you very much for visiting us. We really hope to see you again soon. All our very best :)
