While sometimes deciding on an island to vacation isn't too difficult as there are so many great destinations...researching a place to stay on said island can be a daunting task...After many weeks of research my husband and I came across Oceans Blue and just the view of the Caribbean off the upstairs studio balcony did it for us. What we didn't realize, was that once there, we couldn't have found a place any more customized to what we were looking for on this vacation...small, private, with a pool, pool deck with loungers and table and chairs, clean, kitchen facilities and a view from our balcony that I can still picture today! So absolutely beautiful! John was very prompt in his replies and between him and Jean, they provided us with all the information we needed to get our vacation started off on the right track. (from contact information, local transportation, site-seeing, beaches and restaurants, groceries, etc) Ocean Blues housekeeper, Lynn was there to greet us upon arrival and not only did she have, on hand, delicious rum punches for us, she had stocked our kitchenette with enough to see us through until we did some grocery shopping. She was always available to answer any questions we had and was a major help in getting us in contact with the local airport to arrange for the return of our one piece of luggage that didn't make the original flight with us. She was such a lovely, caring and helpful joy and we are so grateful to her for all of her personal care and thankful that we had the pleasure of meeting her. Ocean Blues is a great place if your looking for a gorgeous view, a place where you are close enough to all the tourist locations but far enough to really enjoy your privacy. We had access from Ocean Blues to snorkel right out front of the condo and we rode the local buses from one end of the island to the other daily. We could choose to walk for miles on the beautiful endless beaches, snorkel in other locations, shop in other areas, visit the fish market for fresh fish to take back to our condo to grill or just stroll along finding local beach bars or restaurants. 3 of our favorites: II Tempio (we ate dinner their 3 nights as Leo was such a delight as was the other bartender and owner), Ju Ju's, Oistin's fish fry. We also hired a cab to tour other areas of Barbados and to tour the Mount Gay and Foursquare's Rum Distilleries. We look forward to returning to Barbados one day and would certainly stay at Ocean Blues. One of the best vacations we've had! *****
Ocean Blues is an amazing and beautiful place to stay. We had a wonderful 11 nights there, made to feel so welcome by John and Janice (the owners) and Lynn (housekeeper). The apartment is extremely stylish with white curved concrete, open air kitchen and the most incredible views of the Caribbean below. The plunge pool and the stairs down to the tiny little cove, the beautiful flowers, visiting birds and turtle-watch are stunning!!
We had a hire car to get about the island, which is wonderful, but there is a bus stop outside and a supermarket five mins away. It is a great location for the west coast beaches and two of the best restaurants are walking distance away, while Bridgetown is only ten minutes south. Best of all is being able to wade along the coast from the cove to the fabulous Batts Rock Beach and deserted Paradise Beach. It is fab!
Only one way to describe the ocean blue studio. ....paradise. ....lovely views. ....very private .....clean and well maintained. ...very good value for money.....snorkeling is great ....pool fantastic too cool down in and relax.....local bus stop outside taking you up and down the island. ...will definitely be booking again and again.... really loved it....Best holiday ever...
This truly cosy ocean-side studio with amazing views from the terrace has everything needed to make a home away from home: comfortable bedroom with sea view, en suite bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen with fridge stocked with basics to get one started on holiday. Separate entrance, private beach and even a small infinity pool make a comfortable stay, but one can go roaming the island to the capital Bridgetown, nightlife of Holetown, east-coast beaches or mysterious Harrison caves with bus stop just in front of the house. All in all, couldn't have wished a better pad for a tropical paradise island holiday!
My husband and I stayed at Ocean Blues for our Honeymoon and returned again 2 years later. The House is gorgeous, situated right on the Ocean with access via a staircase direct to the water. We stayed in the Upstairs bedroom which is gorgeous. At night you close the shutters and listen to the sea as it laps under the villa. You have your own private balcony which overlooks the ocean where you can spend many happy hours watching the fishermen and all manors of watersports that take place. One of the most romantic things is to sit and watch the sun go down with a glass of Rum Punch, truly wonderful.
