We stayed for 4 nights at the Nellim Wilderness Hotel and had a marvelous experience. It was beautifully situated north of Ivalo. They arranged our transportation from the airport and although we got in late they met us and walked us to our cabin. We stayed in the Roiro cabin for 3 nights and a bubble room for a fourth night. The cabin was large and spacious with its own sauna and sleeping arrangements for 4. There was also a wood burning stove.

All of our activities were planned and included and they had most of the cold weather gear we needed (it was clear from their website what we needed to bring for ourselves). Meals were all included, served buffet style but very delicious.

While generally quite clean the only complaint we could come up with is that we did notice a couple of minor cleaning deficits (mostly our night in the bubble room) but nothing major and would characterize this is a very clean hotel. We did get to see the aurora from the bubble room (one of 3 nights we got to see it!) and that was simply amazing.

We are already planning to go back!

Just back from a fantastic 4 night break which was a once in a lifetime experience. Booked through Aurorazone who were superb. From getting onto the plane at Gatwick the whole process was seamless. Hotel superb, I can highly recommend the log suites - very warm, cosy and comfortable plus private sauna. You have to book a night in a bubble for an unforgettable experience. Daytime and nightime activities extremely well run with very friendly, knowledgeable guides. Cold weather clothing provided by the hotel was very high quality and providing you take plenty of layers, even minus 25 degrees is not a problem. To cap it all we saw the lights 4 nights out of 4, with the most spectacular display saved for our last night ....perfect

Room Tip: Log suites are great

Fantastic break. Lovely resort, stayed in one of the log cabin suites, which was incredibly warm and cosy. The aurora was visible to different degrees each night, with one *spectacular* display. Food is good - you’re in a wilderness resort so don’t expect too much haute cuisine, but lots of warming soups, braised meats and hearty stews. Just what you need. Excursions are the main highlights though, with the husky day, reindeer snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and the snowmobile aurora camp all exceptional. The guides really look after you, big thanks to Jonny, Emmi, Anthony & Simon keeping us all safe, warm (as possible at -30c!), and giving us fantastic insights into a very unique way of life.

From being picked up from the airport, organisation of all of our trips, and for helping with any questions, the staff were all amazing, so helpful, kind, polite and brilliant.

The food was exceptional, every single day, at every meal. The chefs are fantastic.

The staff who did the excursions are so passionate, professional and knowledgeable and made the trips so much fun and so enjoyable, and made us feel safe!

Our room was so clean and comfortable, and our night in the bubble was lovely.

I will be highly recommending it to my friends and family and will definitely be back to this, or any of your other hotels.

We cannot fault anything, we loved every part of it, and every minute of it.

Room Tip: Go for a cabin, if your budget allows and spend one night in the Aurora Bubble, thats not to be missed!

Just returned after a short 4day 3 night stay (which is actually 3 nights and 2 days when you take into consideration travelling times) It was absolutely picture postcard perfect. Can't say enough about what an extraordinary experience it was. The hotel is wonderful. We stayed in a log suite for 2 nights and a bubble on the last night. The whole place is impeccably clean & organised. The excursions were great, big shout out to Irene for our Aurora camp and snow shoe trek on the last night where we were privileged to see a wonderful Aurora display. The staff were wonderful, the food was sublime (the porridge bread and reindeer stew OMG!) We met lots of great people, ate fabulous food, saw breathtaking scenery and witnessed the lights - all in all the best 2 days ever!!!
And all you need for great Aurora photos is a Galaxy S8 phone with the camera in Pro mode and a small gorilla pod...!!
