Fantastic place , excellent staff from the guides to the bar staff. Food was plentiful & very varied & good & wholesome which is needed in the cold conditions. The activities were really well organised & great fun , especially the husky’s. Loved it all & we saw the most amazing aurora display.
The bubble was a must do too. Loved it all.

From beginning to end, this holiday exceeded expectations. Met at the airport, transported to a welcoming hotel, greeted by friendly staff and a hot meal, the adventure had already begun. Dog sledding, snowmobile riding, snow shoe walking, and a visit to a reindeer farm, and let's not forget searching for the Aurora - these are only some of the activities on offer here, and the ones I tried! Excellent guides made sure you had a great time choose what your level of experience, and outdoor gear was provided to keep you warm. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere leant itself to friendly interactions and conversations amongst all he guests. I was travelling alone and didn't eat dinner alone once. Simply the best, and I will definitely go again.

We booked a 4 night package (Northern Lights over Lake Inari) through The Aurora Zone in the UK, February 11th to 14th 2018.

If you are looking for a well organised adventure holiday in the snow then I highly recommend this as your hotel of choice and booking through The Aurora Zone, everything from booking to coming home went with ease.

This package incorporated Snowmobiling for 5 1/2 hours (inc visit to a Reindeer Farm), Husky Sledging for 2 1/2 hours, with time at the Husky Farm afterwards and Snowshoeing for about 4 hours.

Also 2 nights at Aurora camps where you were taken to the camp in sledges drawn by a guide driving a Snowmobile and another night where again you drove a Snowmobile following a guide to an Aurora camp.
The idea behind the Aurora camps is that you get to see the Northern Lights but unfortunately they didn't want to come out and play during our 4 nights, too much cloud cover, which was the only downside of our stay but the activities more than made up for this.

All our activities were done in groups of an average 12 people which made it great fun.
I drove both the Snowmobiles with my wife sitting on the back and the Husky Sledge with my wife sitting in the sledge.

We also upgraded through The Aurora Zone at booking stage to have our own Log Cabin with private sauna which was well worth it. You don't take a holiday like this and take the standard package, its a once in a lifetime for most people so make the most of all the luxuries available.

We won't be going back purely because we have so many holidays on our bucket list to achieve and at 59 years of age probably not enough time left to achieve everything but we highly recommend this Hotel if you are looking for this type of holiday.

Thanks for a quite memorable holiday.

Room tip: Upgrade to a Log Cabin with private sauna

We stayed at Nellim Wilderness Hotel for 4 nights and it has been ha day down the best place we have ever stayed.

The hotel is lovely, rooms are spotless and food is great. I cannot articulate just how beautiful this place is. The scenery is stunning, literally everywhere you look there are breathtaking views. The last 4 days have felt completely surreal.

The real highlight for us was the excursions. We were blessed with the aurora on 3 days out of 4 with one spectacular display on the second night. This will be a night we’ll never forget, watching the aurora dance and light up the sky from the frozen lake, then on to our cosy teepee to chat around the campfire with a warm berry juice. It was perfect. We did 2 aurora camps, snowmobile aurora chasing, husky sledding, the reindeer day (incl. snowmobiling, a trip to the Russian border, Nellim church, lunch by the campfire and ice fishing) and snowshoeing. We loved every single one of them. It’s hard to choose a favourite.

The guides were all exceptional. Special thanks to: Toni, Anthony, Emmi, Johnny and Pim. They were lovely, great company and so knowledgable. They went the extra mile to make the trips as special as possible for all of us.

Thank you so much for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime, experiences which we’ll never forget and for giving us the most magical few days. We are heartbroken to be coming home, so much so that the first thing we’ll do when we get home is to book our return trip for next winter!

See you soon!

We were the end of the year night and incredible experience. We chose a cabin to sleep in, and the surprise was pleasant, since it was comfortable, wide, beautiful, well decorated, good air conditioning ... perfect. With the price of the hotel we paid the food of the 31st, the dinner and the breakfast of the 1st of January. As the food, as the dinner, or the breakfast of the following day, free buffet, infinite amount, buenisimo everything ... without words. The location of the hotel in the middle of the forest, without noise, spectacular. If I go back to Finland, I will return to this hotel.
