A wonderful welcome, a welcomed rest, peaceful, as only nature can be at this rich time of the year, with its birds and bright flowers: from the chirrup of African bee-eaters to the song of the nightingale and tolling of cattle bells, as they trundle around the river island on which we pitched our camp for our short time off-grid. Thank you Jacqui and Neil for your welcome and for your dedication to this lovely part of the world and please say hello to the rest of the "wolf" pack for us. Adam and Fiona.
Down a dusty track to be greeted by Jacqui and Neal who are creating a perfect place for calm and relaxation. Kept company by Pluto, Monty, Cuca, Mama and Fat Freddie, street dogs delivered to a charmed existence, we whiled away hours listening to nightingales, cuckoos and Bee Eaters.
Walks in wildflower meadows, we breathed in wild mint and lavender.
Off grid we were disconnected, isolated and chilled.
The good life exists in a remote part of the quiet Alentejo.
