The cottage is wonderful & has everything you could possibly need. It is in lovely gardens & is peaceful & private. The conservatory is a great place to sit & watch the wildlife. There is plenty to do nearby & the local Blisland Arms is definitely worth a visit. The village is within walking distance & also has shop & café - locals very friendly. Doggy Heaven with lots of places to walk including Camel Trail & Cardinham Woods. Wonderful bays & beaches also within driving distance. A truly peaceful retreat & obviously a lot of thought has gone into making your stay a good one.

“Fabulous cottage in great location”

I have never written a review before but felt this cottage justified one. It was a very cosy, comfortable, well equipped and spacious cottage, one of the best we have stayed in. The owner had thought of everything, including walking sticks, umbrellas and hot water bottles! The kitchen was the hub of the house for us with the lovely warm Aga and seating for six, plenty of crockery and cutlery, sharp knives and non stick pans that didn't stick! There was plenty of space, all very clean and fresh. Internet access was brilliant all over the house. We don't have dogs and were worried that the house might smell a bit doggy but not at all.

The cottage is ideally situated for both North and south coasts, with beautiful beaches, interesting harbours, great gardens and interesting National Trust properties. Blisland is ia very attractive village within walking distance and the village pub was very welcoming and served a good selection of hot meals.

Looking at the visitor book we noticed that people returned time and again and that says a lot. Would highly recommend it. Thank you Ben.

Lease Cottage is one of the best rented cottages we've ever stayed in. It was very spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable, and the location was idyllic: walking distance from the village which has a superb pub and community shop/cafe. If you go then definitely try the Fat Raspberry cafe... a limited menu but the best food and coffee I've tasted in years.

From the visitors book it seems mainly families with dogs stay there (in fact the back garden is fenced as a dog run). We don't have dogs and I was concerned in advance whether there would be a doggy aroma to the place but not a bit of it! It was clean and fresh. The bedrooms were perfect - large and separated enough for our two teenage daughters to feel like they could have their own space when needed. The lounge and conservatory were both used by us extensively and were comfortable. There was also a large dining room which we didn't even need to use since the kitchen had a big breakfast table. There was also a utility room for washing and boots. Both the lounge and dining room had big original fireplaces with woodburners and the kitchen had an Aga so although we didn't need this in August, the cottage would be very cosy in the winter. The kitchen - my favourite room - was probably the most well-equipped kitchen for a holiday cottage I have every come across. They even had a blender (never seen that in a holiday home before)!

The only downside, for me personally, was that the ceilings are low in all rooms except the kitchen and conservatory. I'm 6 foot 3 inches, and I would say anyone more than 6 foot may have a problem. This was a particular issue when using the shower, which with a raised plinth and beams on the ceiling, was even lower. This is the only negative however and was not a problem for my wife and daughters all of whom are under 6 foot tall.

I'd recommend Lease Cottage and Blisland itself to anyone (as long as you are not scared of all the single-track lanes to get there!). A perfect location and ideally central to get to both coasts and many attractions within a 45 minute drive.

“Fantastic cottage, a real home from home with extras!!”

We have just spent a week at Lease Cottage and feel so relaxed. It is a most comfortable and welcoming home with everything you need. Close to beaches, walks and places of interest. The local pub serves real ales and is a good place to eat if you cannot be bothered to cook. Lovely gardens, full of birds. All in all a lovely place to be. I want to go back when the aga is working (obviously not in the summer!) Thank you to Ben for sharing his home, we have had a super stay.

“Beautiful Cottage”

A very cosy cottage which is brilliant for my 6 shelties, have stayed here a few times since 2000 but this is my first visit since the extensions have been added. I commend the housekeeper for keeping it so spotless. Hope to go back again
One tip if you have small dogs check the run as my 8 month old puppy got under the run gate until I blocked it off, also some of them had a good try to get through sheep netting after the rabbits.
