Went in, great reception from them, very curtious towards me and my friend. Ordered Shander with vegi pilau and some garlic naan bread. Holy hell that was an amazing dish, sweet flavours, best experience with curry flavours EVER. hands down the nicest curry to date.

I'm surprised at some of the reviews on here, some comments are awful, food is terrible and don't know how this takeaway is rated so highly, I'm a massive fan of this place and some of the comments I'm surprised by them, this takeaway is one of the best in Hartlepool, food is great, people who work there a great, don't let people put you off, I highly recommend people try saffron express

A very enjoyable experience - Saffron deserves its reputation as one of the very best curry houses in a town which is full of high quality Indian food.

As a party of 10 we found the service appropriate, which while relatively slow, allowed us to relax and chat before ordering our food. However, as the only group in the restaurant the waiting staff might have chosen to take empty plates and glasses away from the tables more quickly than they did. Overall, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Being able to bring our own alcohol to the venue was also a big draw and we were able to place these in the refrigerator.

The food was very well received by the group. The 4 course special priced at £10 is excellent value for money and my main course, a chicken tikka garlic balti, was the perfect balance of spice and flavour. I would recommended this to anyone, but make sure you specify how hot you like your curry. My mixed grill starter was also excellent, and if my friends chicken chaat tasted half as good as it looked I would certainly be impressed.

Many thanks for a thoroughly pleasant evening with great and full flavoured food - we will be back.

Lovely tasty curries, rice and breads all delivered piping hot, well wrapped and just as ordered. Would highly recommend anything off the menu - but not the chips!! How you can make such great curries yet serve undercooked oven chips is a little poor. Apart from that all good
