Pickering is a nice market town with lot to do near by. We spent lovely day at Dalby Forest where the grand children enjoyed going ape. Plenty nearby, Whitby Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay. So nice to go back to the cottage after a busy day plenty of room very clean nice welcome pack and Gill there making sure your stay is a happy one. Only down side is ther is a little road noise and if more than one car you have to park across the road which can be quite busy at times.
We have just returned from our Easter break at the Longhouse in PICKERING.
From the moment we entered this cottage, it felt like home. It has loads and load of character and we would recommend this cottage for any occasion.
It's in an ideal position, with a walk of 15 mins to the centre of Pickering and within easy reach of the Yorkshire moors and coast.
We would like to thank Gill, the owner, for such a lovely prepared cottage.
We have just returned from a three night stay in this lovely cottage. There was everything we could possibly need in the very well-equipped kitchen and three bedrooms all ensuite was an added bonus. The beams, especially the ones in the main living room, were stunning. It was only a ten minute walk to the centre of Pickering, where we found lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed visiting the church with its medieval wall paintings. There are walks straight from the front door and many more within a few miles of the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning a return visit next year. Many thanks to Gill for all her help and the delicious biscuits and lemon marmalade!
Another lovely stay at the Longhouse with a group of old friends. The large kitchen and table easily seated us all for meals and chats, the fabulous main lounge was as before a great place to relax and continue the stories. Excellent house keeping meant everything was exceptionally clean and super quality.
Thanks again Gill
