“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We (family w/ 3 kids and a dog) stayed at Mallard Cottage for 9 days and enjoyed every minute. House is high quality and very complete, we didn't miss a thing. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Their farm is a few hundred yards from the cottage. There was plenty of room for the kids to play and for the dog to run around. It's a quiet spot (road is a cul-de-sac) but very close to Stirling shopping area at the same time. Is specious and clean. Views are stunning (see my pano pic). You will like it!

“Heavenly!”

"Wow!" That's what we said when we entered the Mallard Cottage, which was promptly followed by the statement that we should just stay in the cottage the whole time and forego touring the area. Wendy greeted us at the cottage upon our arrival; she's very friendly and it was nice chatting with her as she pointed out a few things around the cottage. The cottage is very clean, comfortable, and has everything you could possibly need while on holiday. The starter setup of bread, eggs, butter, and milk was very helpful and the fresh, homemade scones were delicious!! The towels were super fluffy and linens were absolutely fantastic. The bed was so comfortable that it was very difficult to get up in the morning. We slept in a little bit too long one morning because we were so comfortable. The views from the cottage were absolutely stunning, I wish we could have been there in the summer so that we could have sat outside to enjoy them even more; either way though we sat inside staring in awe so we were happy. It's easy to tell that a lot of thought went into the design and decor of the cottage; I was taking several mental notes of elements from this cottage that I'd like to have in my dream house. The location is perfect for touring Stirling or Loch Lomond National Park. There's also a retail park very close with a Morrison's for groceries or if you prefer another grocery store it's not a far trip into Stirling where there's a vast number of choices. Do not hesitate to book this cottage, you will not regret it! I hope that we are able to return as we absolutely loved it!! Thank you Wendy!

“Heavenly comfort has found a new meaning”
Reviewed 18 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

It is true. When we went to Mallard cottage we did not expect to experience heavenly comfort. But we did. The landlady (Wendy) and her husband have gone through the most amazing exercise to create a heavenly comfort experience for their guests. From the welcome which is second to none to the facilities, furnishings and cleanliness of the cottage, not to mention the views and privacy whilst having city life at your doorstep. We drove from south of France and used 4-star hotels along the way. We also used other cottages (4 star) in Scotland. The tourist board better get their act together, Mallard cottage is 8 star not 4.

“Absolutely beautiful!”
Reviewed 9 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Mallard Cottage is beautiful and Wendy a lovely host. The cottage has everything a traveler could possibly want and more. It is luxurious, comfortable and has spectacular views of the hills around Stirling, the castle and Wallace memorial. It is only a short drive from town and the surrounding area. We loved every minute of our stay and, after staying in hotels before arriving at the cottage, to be greeted with scones and a warm welcome from Wendy was wonderful. Thanks, Wendy. If we make the long trip back to Scotland some day, and I hope we do, we'll be sure to stay with you again.
