Absolutely beautiful property, owner was there to welcome us and show us round. Dog friendly garden perfect for our stay. Cosy warm cottage, perfect base for weekend exploring the area.
This is difficult for me to write, because the owner of this holiday Lodge is friendly and helpful, the accommodation is very well-presented and extremely clean, and I'd really love to say lots of nice things. Sykes, the agent, were lovely too. Unfortunately you can't test a holiday property until you try to stay there, and we discovered there is a flight-path overhead (all night too, including large planes and Continental and military aircraft) which booms the sound all round the valley; we couldn't sleep, which makes it impossible to stay. The owner may not notice, if they've been there a while, but any short-stay new guest with normal hearing certainly would. Also there's a quarry very close by, which you don't know until you've been given the postcode after you pay. The private drive up to the property is extremely steep (the adverts need to tell you this) and our strong motorhome struggled, we scraped the underneath. If you're used to permanent aircraft, and don't mind interference with your hearing, then this is a good and safe place to stay, open-plan, comfortable, good kitchen and bathroom, and with a garden. But sadly I've lost about £300 and can't use this Lodge, and I've needed to return the key.
