We had a wonderful stay here, despite being sceptical because of a few bad reviews on Trip Advisor.
Our expectations were far exceeded. This is a good honest hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff who ensured that our stay was very pleasant indeed and we had everything we could possibly want.

At the time of our stay the hotel was very understaffed, however you would not have known as the staff had everything under control. Debbie, Tanitha and Sue were fantastic.

We arrived on the Friday night, and ate in the restaurant. We are both Vegetarian and Debbie quickly whipped up some special dinners just for us, served to us in the garden as it was such a lovely evening.

Our room was lovely and overlooked the ducks. It was clean and comfortable.

Our dog was made very welcome too and enjoyed his stay as much as we did.

All in all a very good experience and we will return again.

Clean and tidy but facilities need updating or repairing as number of items in a room with gym equipment a number where broken! Swimming pool was not inviting to sit swim and relax.
Would have been good to have had loungers rather pub chairs.. did not class as "Manor"
Food very good and presented care.
Staff worked very hard, pleasant and welcoming.

The decor in our room needed a little updating. We had everything we needed including a bath which I love to have to ease my aching bones! The pillows on the bed were a little flat and worn out. We were a little disappointed that we couldn't have an evening meal the first night, the chief had the night off so we had to go into Ilfracombe to find something to eat which was not too far away.

The location was wonderful. we were right in the middle of the countryside, an owl woke us up in the middle of the night, not that we minded.

We had breakfast on the two days we were there and they were first class. We had one dinner which I can honestly say was excellent although the wine was a little expensive for pinot grigio. The staff were friendly and went out of there way to ensure we had everything we needed, ask and you will receive! We asked for towels to use the swimming pool and had en enjoyable hour which was lovely and warm.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and explored Ilfracombe and area which were on the doorstep. Thank you. Rita and Harry Poole

Such lovely experience! Beautiful scenery, kind & friendly staff too! The pool was nice & warm to be able to take my 7month Old Son in close to the beaches & city! Would recommend.
Thank you for a great weekend!
