“Great well located sizeable cottage”
Reviewed 5 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

A group of friends and I stayed at Seaholms for a long weekend. The cottage is very spacious over three levels. It is a great location up on top of the cliffs with a short walk down to the harbour. Contact with the owners was very easy who quickly responded to any emails which we sent. They were also very flexible allowing an all male group to stay and as a short break rather than a full week. On arrival we were greeted with 8 scones, jar of strawberry jam and a very large pot of clotted cream which was a lovely surprise. The cottage has a games room in the basement where many games of pool were played. Definitely would recommend

“Great location, lovely spacious house, some nice touches (scones, kids toys etc)”
Reviewed 3 December 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We spent a wet and blustery week at Seaholm in the middle of October with my parents, 2 year old and my brother and sister-in-law. The house was plenty big enough for us all to have our own space but also be able to all eat and relax together. It was well equipped, particularly for toddlers, with a travel cot and high chair and plenty of plastic plates and utensils. Booking was easy and the few questions I had were answered promptly by either the owner or in the latter stages the caretaker. We found the house to be clean, tidy and didn't experience any stale smells as noted in a previous review. The caretaker was lovely and popped in on our first day with some delicious scones and clotted cream. She also came back to babysit (for a ludicrously reasonable rate) one evening so we could all go out for dinner. And she was very accommodating when I realised halfway back to London we had taken the house's travel cot with us!!
The location of the house is great for both the town centre, the Tunnel beaches and the harbour - nothing is more than a 5 minute walk down the hill. And there's a great soft play at the bottom of the road in the Tunnel beach cafe which saved our sanity as we were often rained in!
We would definitely return!

“Top rental an easy family holiday with some nice surprises”
Reviewed 13 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We took my parents for a surprise holiday to at Seaholm in April and had an absolutely brilliant time. The house is big enough to provide lots of the space so we never got under each others feet and the kitchen and living areas work well to provide a the right ambience for a family holiday. What worked particularly well for us was the ability for for a few people to stay up long into the night whilst not disturbing those who wanted an early night as well as the TV being separate from the dining and games area - we could all break off into little groups and not get under one another's feet. There were some surprisingly good restaurants really close by, the Espresso Bar and Grill being a top recommendation, and the house is well located for an easy drive to to the beach as well as some great coastal walks right from the house. My mum says a big thanks for the nicest homemade scones she's ever had!

Hi. I'm glad you had a great time. I really mustn't take credit for those scones - my lovely caretaker made them. I'll pass those kind words on.

“Lovely House in Great Location”
Reviewed 9 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Its many years since we visited North Devon and we had forgotten how beautiful it is. We stayed at Seaholm with family friends and their young children. The house was perfect - spotlessly clean, spacious, well furnished and in a great location. There were lovely views from all the windows especially the upstairs lounge and we were conveniently situated for the beach, the town centre and the harbour . We particularly enjoyed the walks from Seaholm, either along the coastal path or around the gardens and down to Damien Hurst's cafe on the quay. His giant statue is a sight to behold btw. We were in easy striking distance of the Exmoor National Park and we found some delightful places on our tour around by car. The youngsters and dog enjoyed the spectacular surfing beaches around the corner from Ilfracombe and the little ones loved The Big Sheep farm attraction nr Bideford.

Seaholm is a very nice place to stay. Its big enough to spread out and find your own personal space or to socialize in the huge lounge or dining room. We will definitely return and do the area justice over a longer stay.

I'm glad you enjoyed your break. I first went to the Big Sheep 20 years ago, and it is such fun to go again as a parent. We hope to welcome you back soon.
