Just come back from 4 Days at the Imperial Hotel. Nice stay rooms a bit dated but comfortable and warm. The staff are great nothing too much for them very helpful and polite.
The food was very nice and we had a good choice, bar prices very reasonable but beware the bar is only open from 5-30 until about 11pm but Wetherspoons is 5 minuets away!
All in all a very nice weekend just a pity the weather wasn’t better but thats not the hotels fault.

There was a coach load of us that stayed here from Monday to Friday. A gentleman in our party was disabled and we had checked numerous times if this hotel could accomadate, we asked for a ground floor room as he uses a wheelchair. On arrival we found he had been given a room on the 3rd floor. When we spoke to the manager thinking it was just a mistake we were told by him in his exact words " we don't cater for disabled people and i could refuse to let you stay", this was said in front of the disabled gentleman who had already been worried sick about being a burden on others. On the web site it states that a ramp is available and can be put down on request, this wasn't the case as every time he wanted to go out him and his wheelchair were having to be carried up and down the steps. They were left for 2 hours and 20 minutes waiting for another room in all this time they weren't even offered a drink We had travelled about 5 hours to get there and to be treated in this disgusting way. NEVER AGAIN WOULD ANY OF US STAY IN THIS HELL HOLE, ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR. My understanding is everyone now should be catering for disabled people and not to discriminate.

Room Tip: Stay clear if you are disabled

Some people expect too much, but I wasn't disappointed with the hotel: the rooms were clean, the food for the price paid was excellent and the hotel staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I did have a very disturbed first night with the occupants of the room above being REALLY noisy all night, and me being a very light sleeper; next day I asked to be moved and the lady at the desk found me a much quieter room which I was very thankful for. All in all for the price paid I was more than satisfied. Loved the shower.

Room Tip: From a personal point of view, room 329 was noisy (from next door and above), but I'm a light sleeper.

Booked thus hotel for work, had to change my date twice then add a date, they were very accommodating and helped me out. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and quick service. Parking is restricted bug there is a public car park opposite. 10 minute walk to the harbour 5 minutes to town centre even though it is up a steep hill. Would recommend to all

Room Tip: Sea view does get the sea noise and a little road noise but not enough to disturb me.
