Description: The Quay restaurant in Ilfracombe is home to a unique and substantial collection of Damien Hirst's works. The classical fronted building has been beautifully restored and now relates well to the stunning views out to the Atlantic and the traditional harbour of this ancient port. Exmoor Angus beef served at The Quay has been bred within a few miles of the restaurant, and the Lundy crab and lobster is delivered on a daily basis by the fishermen who catch it just a few miles off shore. With a wine list to delight the heart of the average oenophile, and a stellar selection of West County cheeses and home-made desserts on the menu, The Quay is a genuine treat for discerning food and art lovers alike.

Recently attended this restaurant with my family whilst on holiday in Ilfracombe. A really pretty view from the upstairs part of the restaurant. The cocktails were delicious and the staff really friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding, beautiful starters - parfait, mussels and scollops. The mains were even better, perfectly cooked fillet steaks, the chicken was delicious, even down to the carrots and mash going with the food. A really lovely meal and service and the price matched the quality of the food.

Early evening on a Sunday, great table, very relaxed atmosphere. Reasonable choice on each course but was out of season.
Excellent service and attention.

Lovely setting, friendly staff and great food! As a veggie I have an inbuilt scepticism but the butternut squash risotto was delicious. It's only my second 9/10 ever (and it's not too expensive)

We had a lovely evening here for a group event. The food was wonderful and the staff were friendly and efficient. We had a whole area to ourselves, which was lovely for our big group.

My daughter booked this restaurant as a present for Mother's Day for my wife. Generally speaking, the food was good, not massive amounts, but well cooked and presented. However.... There were only two choices of vegetarian meals on the menu, one if which was the usual and very boring standby of most restaurants, boring old risotto. My vegetarian daughter opted or the only other choice, a goats cheese tart with a rocket salad. She asked if she could change the salad for mash potato and was told categorically 'no'! (Mad potato WAS on the menu, just not with this dish).
I wasn't able to rate the service (4) food (3) and value (3) below as there appears to be a little problem with this online form
