We travelled to Blairgowrie for our first visit there in several years to collect some artefacts for the Tayside Police Museum in Kirriemuir.
Although there are several small restaurants and coffee shops in Blairgowrie, the Cateran, located at the top of the town centre, stood out a little more than some of the others, so we chose to have lunch there. It has very interesting interior decor, and a nice touch is a large plaque nearing an explanation of its name, 'Cateran'.
Clearly a very popular location with locals and visitors alike, the menu is varied, supplemented by a very interesting and eclectic choice on the specials board. The service was very good, and the food was excellent. It was a dining experience we would definitely repeat, and we're happy to recommend the Cateran to others.
