My partner and I stayed here for three days and would not stay again. The hotel is musty and very old fashioned. Although the owner was welcoming, it was very formal rather than comfortable. The room was poor and cleanliness was not a strong point. The shower was very poor as well as the room itself. If you do stay in the hotel, take extra tea/coffee/milk because there is only enough for one cup each per day.
We have stayed on the Isle of Wight previously and loved it but this hotel definitedly made our stay less enjoyable.

The hotel/ B&B/ Guest hosue was booked by a friend for 4 us for a weekend away on the isle of wight. It was a set in an old victorian house, with the rooms convertited to make small rooms. When we got there we were greated by the lady who owns it, who was very friendly and chatty, and made us feel very welcome.

I do agree with some of the past reviewers, the house did have an old smell to it as soon as we talked through the door. The place its self seemed very clean and tidy (which is what you want!) I stayed in a single room which was good, a bit on the small side.

The room however did feel very claustrophobic as there seemed to be too much furniture, half of it wasnt really required/ needed! I had found the shower could have done with more water pressure, the water had just trickled out instead, though on the other had the water very hot so couldnt moan about that!

The breakfast was nice, and again what was mentioned in another post, it could have been more of it!! There could been a couple of sausages, bacon & eggs rather than just the one helping! Though there was ceral and the owner had bought out a couple of rounds of toast.

There is free parking outside of the hotel or on street parking if the carpark is busy. The place is only a 5 min walk in to town and the beach so a very good location. All in all the hotel in a nice place, with the location and the price. The only thing that I found with the place to give it top marks, is that it is looking very tired and dated, With a lick of paint and tidying it up would make this place perfect. I would stay here again, and would reccomend it to my friends!

This was our third short break at Chad Hill and as always it was as pleasent as ever. The accomodation is of a high standard given the age of the hotel.Meals were,to say the least,of generous portions with a good set menu choice which changed daily. It`s hardly the venue for a romantic stay if your young and want an all singing all dancing stay but for the older romantics who want to unwind it`s ideal for a value for money break away from the rat race of the mainland as a base to see the island without the children.

My children stayed here as part of a group, so I have not seen the hotel myself and can't comment on it specifically or indeed rate all areas accurately but they had a great time and were full of praise for the friendly owners who were extremely helpful in accommodating food allergies - thank you very much! They enjoyed the food which they said was tasty and plentiful.

the room we where in which was right by the front door, (noisy) was so overcrowded with furniture we believe it was actually the storage room. the furniture was excessive and in a couple of cases unusable due to the position it was in. To draw or close the curtains we had to reach over the dressing table and the net curtains where dirty. and we had an extra single bed in the room!! there was one extra plug which for a hotel is not acceptable in the 21st century. The en suite(!) was tiny, we actually thought it was the cupboard when we looked at the doors. I am not a large person but if I was any bigger I would not have got into the room let alone the shower. The lights above the bed where from the 70s strip lights and the wiring going up to them was cased off in white plastic, not attractive. The bed linen did not match and was also from the 80's and we had one pillow each and no sight of any extra. The hotel from the picture looked lovely but we where so du=isaapointed byt eh decor and facilities it could have spoilt our weekend if the island had not been so beautiful.
