“Lovely cottage with an amazing view”

We stayed in what the kids called the upside down house at the end of July and it was a dream, the view from the lounge and the balcony is amazing and you can see out over Ventnor and the sea. The rooms were good sized with the twin room at the back that the kids stayed in being nice (the addition of a cuddly toy was a lovely touch) and we had the front bedroom that has lovely views out onto the decking and the sea.

The cottage is on the main road and parking was a little tricky although their was ample parking on the aptly named zig zag road nearby.

This was our first trip to the isle of white and we'll be booking again for next year!

“Superb views”

Such a nice stay at this cottage, excellent location, premium views, we enjoyed sitting on the terrace for dinner. This is a good choice for families - beautiful and easy walks directly from Ventnor.

“Lovely base to explore the IoW”
Reviewed 6 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Overall this is good accommodation for a young family. Our party consisted of two adults and a two yr old.

Ocean view offers comfortable living space where you could relax after a busy day and watch the ocean as night draws in. It is situated on a main road which you do notice in the front bedroom when buses / lorries are going past in the late / early hours. Thankfully our daughter was never woken though :)

There few teething points on arrival were needing to figure out the boiler was switched off (fuse), but only after trying to get hot water out of the taps for a few minutes, and how the shower worked without wanting to break it. This was solved through trial and error, however felt these could have been explained in the welcome pack for a smooth start.

It is a fantastic spot to start from to explore the island. Ventnor is a pleasant town, with some nice restaurants (sadly Fogg's is now closed for day-to-day business) and metro stores for convenience. Our daughter loved the paddling pool at the sea front, whilst the promenade had a few shops to explore if you wanted a break from the beach.

“A true gem with stunning views”

The house is situated at the top of the hill above Ventnor bay which ensures all the views over the town and the sea are stunning. There are two decks, a small one from the patio doors in the lounge and a larger split level one from the lower bedroom level. The owners have provided table and chairs for both so it's lovely to sit out, relax and enjoy the views. The view from the main bedroom is also exceptional and it's great to sit in bed just looking out to sea. The owners have decorated the house to a very high level and its was lovely and clean on arrival. There are nice touches making it a home from home and instructions on how to operate different appliances. The owners are extremely friendly and very accomodating, they really want you to have a great holiday in their home. The house is upside down with the main bathroom and bedrooms downstairs. There is a toilet and well equipped kitchen upstairs, including a freezer, microwave and washing machine. The lounge is very comfortable with free view TV, a games console, books and games and also wi-fi (which is better than ours at home!). If you are thinking about a holiday in Ventnor I would have no hesitation in recommending this.
