“Perfect for our week in Dunbar.”
Reviewed 13 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Ruth and Philip were friendly and welcoming hosts, interesting to talk to. I found the whole experience uplifting. .
The comfortable flat is as described on the website. It is reached down a few stone steps that are surrounded with pot plants.Situated on the main street of Dunbar. Within easy reach of a variety of interesting shops and cafes, including the fantastic community bakery from where we were given tasty products in the welcome pack
Each of the rooms have been tastefully decorated, with fresh flowers around. There was plenty of surface room and storage areas for our gear. I took advantage of the small library and read one of the books, plenty more for our next visit! Shutters at the bedroom windows gave privacy at night time and excluded noise, we slept well.
The combined kitchen, dining, lounge area worked well for us as a couple, it was cosy for four. The view from the window was a bank of plants and up a few steps was the enclosed garden. The garden was a joy, I enjoyed sitting out there looking at all the plants and the sea beyond.
With a station a short walk away it was easy to journey by public transport. We drove to Edinburgh twice, an easy journey. There was plenty to see in the surrounding area and explore further afield.
I would recommend this garden flat to anyone that is fully mobile and takes an interest in their surroundings.

Sara and family were lovely guests, and easy to bribe with our excellent award winning artisan bakery cum patisserie just a few doors away!

“Good quality flat . A real home from home!!”
Reviewed 26 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We booked last minute for a week and what a lovely week we had! The flat has everything u needed within it and the fixtures and fittings were all of high standard. The beach is 5 mins away .The harbour isnt far away either and if ur up early enough u get to see the fishermen bringing in there catch! ( my son really enjoy seeing the lobsters and crabs) .This little gem of a flat is a great base to explore the surrounding areas. The garden is shared with the owners and it was just wonderful that they encouraged us to use fresh herbs from their garden, I made some tasty pastas there and since my return home I've started to grow my own herbs so thank you Ruth. Thanks again. Amanda, Peter, Luke.

So pleased that you had a good stay, Amanda! Great that you have taken up growing herbs. We discovered that the outdoor basil is a lot tastier than the shop bought variety and such a great summer for it too. We buy it from Franchi Seeds, Neapolitan "Bolloso" large leaf, I think it is called! 1 packet will last you for years. Ruth & Philip
