Sefton Lodge is ideally situated in a perfect location opposite the Pier. When we first arrived there had been a mix up with the booking (not caused by the owners but by Travel Republic who we had booked through) so we had to stay 2 nights in one room (No 6) and one night in a different room (No 5). Both rooms were on the back of the hotel and en suite. The rooms were clean and had tea / coffee facilities and the showers were nice and hot. The owners were friendly and we enjoyed our stay so decided to extend the booking by another two nights. We moved to room 7 which is right at the top with a sea view and had a lovely big comfortable bed. The only downside to the hotel is the car parking as there are only 4 spaces at the back but to be honest, even when we couldn't get a space we parked at the pub a few yards up and the cost was only £3 overnight so no hardship. Breakfast is at 8:30am so we didn't make it every morning as we like a lie in however when we did have breakfast it was very nice, choice of cereals, orange juice, tea, coffee, full English and toast - what's not to like! I would recommend Sefton Lodge but would definitely book directly with the hotel in the future due to our issue with the third party booking company. Thank you for a nice holiday :-)

We booked 2 double rooms for a mini break, one with sea views, the room are clean and tidy, our room had the sea view and was stunning.

We had a friendly reception and even though we arrived early, our rooms were ready and available, which was great. There is only room for 4 cars at the rear, however, the owner reserved a free parking space on the side road and I was able to park there for the duration of our stay.

Breakfast is served at 8:30, not a problem as we are early risers wanted to get out early for visits. There is fresh juice, cereal and a full English on offer, the breakfast was excellent and filling.

The owner if very friendly, this is a perfect location for the main town, which is a few minutes walk away, we would all stop here again.

We have just had a night away in Paignton and stayed the one night at Sefton Lodge. On arrival we were met by a bright hall way which was clean and looked newly decorated, this was carried on into the room where we were to stay in on the first floor. It was OK for us but the place didn't have a lift. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was fresh and clean, there was coffee and tea making facilities along with a flat screen TV on the wall. We had a door which lead onto the balcony with a lovely view out over the bay. The breakfast we found was just adequate, as it was the bare essentials. we were not asked if we required extra toast or coffee. When we were told that breakfast was 08.30hr. I asked when was this until 08.45hr. The window was far too short as it didn't allow people who are on a break time to have a lie in. In short it was a clean place but with the bare minimum.

The experience was great, clean rooms, maybe a little dated but it served a purpose well, I slept like a log most nights. The only thing is the noise from the pier and traffic, even the seagulls and the timing for breakfast as it was hard to get out of bed for 8.30, nice breakfast though, but a bit limited for people like me who don't fancy a full English. However, welcoming hosts made up for it.
Overall, everything you need for a small break at the sea side. Definitely consider Sefton Lodge when we're down again.

Room tip: Twin room has a sea view

Sefton Lodge has to be one of the best kept secrets of Paignton (and Devon for that matter), its prime location at affordable rates make it ideal for a couples getaway or a stay for business.

Recently my fiance and I stayed here for a week, the rooms were a good size, very clean and the view from the balcony - lets just say it was amazing!

The hosts were fantastic, friendly and really knowledgeable - it felt like nothing was too small for them to help with, despite it being the "busy season".

The other guests were equally as great, clearly the sefton lodge attracts nice people.

Will definitely stay again.
