Owner description: Paignton Zoo Environmental Park is a conservation and education charity located in South Devon. With around 2,500 animals, we have more species than anyone else in the South West. These include: crocodiles, snakes, lions, tigers, giraffes, elephant, rhinos, lemurs, meerkats, orang utans... the list is endless! We also have indoor play areas, the Jungle Express train and a lakeside restaurant. If you wish, we also offer special feeding experiences with certain animals, e.g. meerkats, giraffes, giant tortoises, etc. Paignton Zoo is a member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA).

A wonderful zoo with a wide range of animals. Well laid out and even when there's lots of people in the zoo it never felt busy or overrun with people.

I love this zoo. I have a disabled hubby and a child with adhd along with other Sen needs. Staff were so helpful from start to finish we hired a mobility scooter for hubby and although busy still had enough time to do things at our own pace. We took our own picnic and the sun shone all day. The giraffes are my fav lovely to see them all outside can’t wait to come back in the summer

Our group ranged from 94 year old Mum and 18 month old granddaughter. We loaned an electric chair for mum which was explained to us in detail and she soon got the hang of it, without it she wouldn’t have been able to see the amazing animals that we saw. We saw the excellent bird show, we coffeed in one of the outside huts with ample picnic benches and play area for children. There is an excellent soft play area, the toilets were spotless and lots of them. The animals all looked very happy and well cared for.We lunched in the restaurant and although very busy the food was good with a wide variety and tables cleared as soon as vacated. All in all highly recommended

wow what a great zoo this is
there is so much to see and do here
the staff here are wonderful for their hard work in keeping this zoo well maintained
all the animals apart from one (the elephant that looked so lonely and unhappy ) were extremely happy and well looked after
sorry im not saying the elephant isnt being cared for as she does get looked after its just that the day we visited she may have been having an off day
this zoo has so many wonderful animals here it really is one of the best we have ever visited
the environments they have created here for the animals is just so pleasing to see
they appear to have plenty of space and freedom to enjoy their days here
this zoo gets a 10/10 from us for a full and enjoyable day out
we cant thank you enough for making our day at paignton so worthwhile
the lady at the reception area i spoke to at the zoo was so friendly and helpful sorry i forgot your name
we will definetely return here when visiting devon on holiday

No staff were on duty.Cars desperately looking for spaces.Went round and round the overflow car park.Eventually found out that no parking was available.Zoo obviously not interested in customer satisfaction till they get your money. If staff had told us a lot earlier problems with parking then we would have gone way out then walked in.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.

I’m sorry to hear you had difficulties parking when you visited us.

Because of the poor weather during the first week of Easter, it seemed everyone decided to visit us on Thursday which was the only bright and dry day that week.

On this day, we were fully staffed in our car park and the team were constantly roaming through the levels and radioing the front gate about empty spaces to help guests get a parking space.

Thanks again for your feedback.
