The title on the advertisements promise a Wonderful Afternoon Tea -don't be fooled .
Staff very friendly as it was a sunny day we requested the tea to be served outside which it was, unfortunately there is no table cloth so we ate off a rusty table and had to request plates so we could at least butter our scones rather than on the cake stand.
4 finger sandwiches in white sliced bread one of which was cheese and pickle , savoury contribution no originality turkey and stuffing another. Not sure what other 2 where
Scones were fresh though not sure what other than the plain scone what flavour they were supposed to be. ,fruit cake was dry
Amount of tea and jam was generous the half fresh strawberry well if you don't like strawberries that's ok.
At nearly £20 per head in a 4 star hotel eating up against railings beside a public footpath down from a main road is not the best environment I accept we requested to eat alfresco ,which is an advertised option.I admit we ate everything hunger makes you do that. .
This was an anniversary treat with friends were I chose the venue based on previous experiences at this hotel it should have been wonderful -sadly it wasn't .No wonder we were only customers that afternoon btw it wasn't the 13th.More
