What a difference the refurbishment has made - most comfortable. Food good. Impressed with the new 'front of house' Manager - helpful and very welcoming without being obsequious. We took 'out of town' family and they commented how warm and welcoming the place looked as we walked up to it.

Looks like recently refitted. Staff very friendly, slightly more expensive. We ordered 3 meals. Felt was average food was very busy though so good sign.

What a lovely experience! The afternoon tea was outstanding, not the usual sandwiches and cakes but a giant 3 tier platter of hot and cold food which included mini burgers, huge homemade scotch eggs, pulled pork rolls, ham terrine, cheese scones, bacon jam, pigs in blankets, cakes and cake pops served with a glass of fizz. The decor is beautiful with a warm rustic country pub feel and the staff are welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be back.

A local of mine and visited on a regular basis. The food has always been good, well priced and beer and food presented by superb staff, Avalino, James, Stu... to mention a few. Recently taken over by someone from Stockport, maybe a relation of Steve D? Steve D’s review is a disgrace and an insult to all the people who worked there prior to take over and the conversion from The Farmers to the stagger inn. The menu has changed for the worse, is expensive and I won’t be back!
