We had a week at Tides and I can honestly say we will be going back.
Location: You are seconds away from the sea, park and a nature walk, which takes you along to a quiet cove. You are minutes from the town, restaurants and many pubs. A short walk from the main sandy beach in Weymouth.
The House: Fully stocked for cooking. The bedrooms were spacious, with plenty of storage and really comfortable beds. Bathrooms a plenty, with on en-suite, one main and a toilet downstairs. Outdoor space, inlcuded a nice sunny patio and well maintained garden, and at the front of the property was off street parking.
The area: Quiet and relaxed. As mentioned above, you are minutes from the town, with the Red Lion pub your first stop (recommended), and if you would rather keep it quiet, the Nothe Tavern was our favourite for a few outdoor drinks and bar snacks.
We have a small child and baby, and the whole place was geared up for both of them. I thoroughly recommend Tides, so if you're in Weymouth, check it out!
We booked Tides for a short weekend break for a family party and weren't disappointed. We had never booked a house on TripAdvisor before so we didn't know what to expect but the nervousness was unfounded.
The property is on a split level, with the living room and kitchen\diner on the middle floor and bedrooms and bathrooms on the top floor. Al the rooms were nicely decorated, nicely appointed and very clean. The main bedroom has an ensuite which was nice, although I am used to a little more pressure in a shower but its usable. The bed is one of the comfiest I have slept in for a while.
My dad had an issue with the squeaky floors buts its not a major issue.
The house is a very short walk to the sea where there is a nice walk and views down to Portland and across the bay. Another couple of minutes and you are in the harbour area of Weymouth, with its many pubs and restaurants, so the location is ideal for exploring and entertainment.
Contact with Gillian, the owner, was superb. I would highly recommend this property and we will most definitely be returning at some point in the future.
This well furnished house is a 5 minute walk from the harbour and Nothe Fort and next to the coast path. Yet is very quiet and peaceful. The accommodation is furnished to a high standard and the house is very comfortable, with ample room for a family holiday.
We had a lovely four days here walking the Rodwell path, the old Portland quarries ( including the sculpture park) and Maiden castle (30 mins drive away). In the evenings it was so easy to walk into the harbour for dinner.
