“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed 9 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Wonderful, well appointed cottage with stunning views. Sycamore cottage is beautifully furnished with everything you could want. The beds are extremely comfortable and extra bedding is provided should you need it. The kitchen has everything you need including a big fridge freezer and dishwasher. There's a lovely dining area with a table that seats 6 people and the lounge area has two very comfortable sofas, TV and DVD player. Loved the welcome tray of biscuits, coffee, tea and chocolates. This cottage is ideally situated about 4 miles from Appleby and great for exploring the Eden Valley and the Lake District. Thank you Sheila for letting us stay in your fantastic cottage. We will definitely be recommending you to our friends and family and cannot wait to visit again

“Perfect location for a visit to Appleby- in- Westmorland and North Pennines”
Reviewed 5 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Sycamore Cottage is a beautifully appointed converted barn.We very much appreciated the thoughtful welcome tray of goodies on arrival (tea, coffee, luxury biscuits and chocolates)The vase of fresh flowers added to the 'well cared for' feel of the barn.We liked the 'upside down' lay out and the living space on the first floor was spacious but cosy. The kitchen area was very well equipped and the appliances were up to date. We particularly liked the large dining table which was very useful as a work/ hobby area as well as providing very generous eating space. The 2 bedrooms were well furnished with attractive soft furnishings.the main bedroom had en-suite with bath and second bedroom had a shower, both had attractive tiling and fittiings. Very impressed with the abundant, good quality towels. Beds were very comfortable
with the provision of addition beddig if required. The weather was not very warm during our
stay but the barn was well heated. We did not use the private garden but that would have been an added bonus if the weather had been bettter.
The location of the barn is superb surrounded by beautiful countryside. Meadows and pastures to the front and the Eden Valley and fells behind. These views can be appreciated from the upper sitting room windows. The only slight downside is that as the windows are quite high there is no where to sit comfortably and enjoy the view. This last point would not stop us returning to Sycamore Cottage as there were so many plus features which more than compensated. This cottage was a great find and we look forward to our next visit.

“Gorgeous Cottage in a Lovely Rural Location”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Lovely well-appointed cottage in a beautiful rural location. The cottage was decorated to a high standard with everything you could need. Good base to visit many of the surrounding areas including Barnard Castle and Carlisle. The cottage has a great garden and lots of surrounding fields that my children liked exploring. We were made very welcome by Sheila and her family and we hope to visit again.

“peace and quiet in beautiful countryside”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

this cottage was so well appointed and in a very good state of decor. The welcome we got was so genuine that the place instantly felt homely and relaxing. It proved a great base from which to explore the Howgill Fells and the Westmoreland district. We were without the children for the weekend but will definitely bring them here as they would love it too.

“Beautiful and peaceful”
Reviewed 23 February 2014 for a stay in November 2013

Loved this place and can't wait to revisit, this place was like home from home had everything you need. Shelia was very helpful and added them extra touches tea, coffee, chocolates & flowers. Top quality all the way through bedrooms were lovely and the views were amazing.

Reasonable price for 3 nights and 4 adults.

The town was a short drive away with a couple of pubs and nice restaurants.
