Very spacious, comfortable cottage with free use of laundry facilities in The Wash House, located near playground. Nice walks around the farm, although paths not clear at times and care needs to be taken near the river. Excellent 'Fox and Hound' pub in nearby Cotherstone (friendly, value for money and delicious food) and the little village shop has fresh bread in the mornings.
Beautiful location! Easily accessible to wonderful attractions, such as Barnard Castle and High Force Waterfall. Durham Cathedral is not far as are places like Bolton Castle, Richmond and touristy Hawes (although nice to make a stop to stroll and get some tasty Wensleydale cheese) - all picturesque.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our three boys (aged 8, 6 and 4) and the cottage is well priced. Wifi obtainable if you sit in the garden, not in the cottage. The only reason why I did not give it a 5 star was that there were a few minor things that needed to be rectified when we were there (like insufficient cutlery and no chopping board, although inventory said there should have been) and I had to contact the owners to check they had my payment and requirements as I only had the automated reply after my initial online booking. The owners were not there during the week we stayed so it was not possible for them to make any necessary changes to our otherwise lovely holiday.
We recommend East Briscoe Farm Cottages and would go there again.
