My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights as a gift from me for her 30th birthday.
We arrived on Friday afternoon and checked in just after 3pm. The receptionist was very friendly and the porter was present to take our luggage to our room which was situated in another wing . Parking was limited as the hotel was fully booked. The room was comfortable although slightly on the small side. The bed was soft and we did both suffer with aching backs in the morning.
On a positive note the staff were very friendly and the bar manager persuaded my wife not to for a dry martini and recommended the margarita which she enjoyed.
We ate at the zen garden and the food was superb albeit for a bit of plastic found in one of the spring rolls. I brought this to the attention of the waitress who was very apologetic and took it off of the final bill.

The pool was slightly cool and the jacuzzi was a bit to hot. It's a shame that you have to pay an upgrade to use The full spa facilities.

Room Tip: Knight rooms would be better for summer

I think this is probably the best hotel and spa I've ever visited. The staff were SO attentive and friendly. Every. smallest thing was considered with an individual touch The hotel has loads of character whilst the spa was out of this world ........and as for the Hot Stone Harmony Massage ........ wow.

We were disappointed with the decor of our room and public areas - they were a little tired. We had booked a Garden room for a 2 night stay and paid extra for use of the Spa facilities, booking 4 treatments between my husband and I. We were not offered a tour of the Spa as had been mentioned in other reviews.
Generally the hotel felt cold as did the Spa and I could not get warm.
On our first night in the restaurant it seemed that all the waiting staff were on work experience from the College next door. The 'Head' waiter wore an ill-fitting grey suit and shoes so pointed that they curled up at the toes like a court jester. When he brought our wine to the table he asked should he open the bottle to let the wine breathe - it was a screw-top white wine!!!!!
The treatments in the Spa were average - the staff were very friendly. I had booked all treatments in advance after looking at a description of them on-line, but the facial I was expecting did not seem to exist according to the therapist. I did make contact with the Spa via their web-page but received no response.
We were disappointed having read the reviews.

Our family stayed here yesterday for one evening and it was perfect! We were celebrating a double birthday and the staff made it very special! The whole weekend was amazing. From the moment we checked in, the lady on reception could not have been more polite and helpful. We had some family members that we with us for the evening and when we asked at reception if they could get ready in our room this was no problem at all! The staff showed us to our rooms which were Oakwood Garden rooms on the ground floor and they were amazing! Could not fault them at all. Spacious and clean with a lovely little patio out onto the pretty lawn and gardens. The staff even went off to our cars and got all our luggage out for us and bought it to our room. We didn't have to do anything at all! We ate at Le Blaireau's and it was lovely. Our waiter - James, was great (not very french though!). All the staff were great there and looked after us. The food was great, lovely atmosphere and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. So much so, we did not want it to end! We would definately come back to Careys Manor, even though it is very close to where we live! My family loved it and because it was two special birthdays, we could not have picked a better venue at all! We had three teenagers with us too, and they also really loved it! Thank you to everyone at Careys and Le Blaireau for making our weekend really special!

Room Tip: Oakwood Garden rooms on the ground floor are stunning (room 33 or 34 were amazing! )

The hotel could not have done any more to make our one night stay more perfect. The staff at this hotel are amazing! From the reception staff (a really welcoming arrival), to the hotel drivers who collected us, free of charge, from the station, to the waiters in the restaurant - all so very friendly and helpful! The (Knightwood) room was clean and well-furnished; the food in the Manor restaurant was excellent, (drinks rather pricey, though!! - why?) although someone needs to look into how they can keep the breakfast buffet up to the same high standard; the food in the Thai was AMAZING, really good, even by London standards; the spa was atmospheric, with lots of different areas to experience (could have done with a few cleaning staff to remove dirty cups, towels and puddles). Can't complain though, as everything was just lovely. We would definitely return!

Room Tip: Apparently the Oakwood rooms have a/c, so better in summer.
