How to feed a group of 8 (should have been 9) at quite short notice and from out of town. One group from Winchester Hampshire and the other from East Grinstead, W Sussex. Age range from 4yrs to 50yrs, varying degrees of pickiness and somewhere who were happy for us to bring our young puppy! Not much of an ask...not for the staff at The Beehive.

We have just had the most amazing experience, so much so we are writing about it on the way home. Following a bit of a soggy and muddy walk along the Thames we were looking for a lunch location who catered for a range of ages and tastes, we booked only 2hrs before we were due to arrive.

The table was beautifully set and the service was second to none, including making something to order for the 10yr old who wants a special salad, not just the kids menu choices. Mummies had a bottle of wine which was served with a nice condensation into crisp and clean glasses...obvs we were won over from the start!

We ordered from one of the three menus which were avail for Easter weekend, we had fish and chips, burger and vegetarian burger (The Queen Bee - try it, AMAZING!). The kids had fish fingers or chicken goujons but there were other choices.

Let’s just say there was nothing left on any of the plates...it all went, every last thing. The lovely staff were attentive but not intrusive, the right mix of proper customer service, engaging and interested in how we came to be there and very happy to keep the younger table guests entertained with colours and stickers.

Our pup was welcomed, although a bit muddy on arrival, he was even treated to a treat and his very own bowl of water. I have included a couple of pictures, hopefully they convey something about the happy lunch we had with our lovely friends! Thanks to you all at The Beehive!

I got introduced to the beehive by my sister and have fallen in love. The food is amazing! I had the burger off the light bites menu and ... wow ... the size of the meal left us completely full. The pub is beautifully decorated with personal touches in the bathrooms. I will be returning and introducing all my friends. There are board games to play, books to read and plenty to drink including a whole shelf of different gins ... perfect. Why go for a coffee in a chain shop when you can support a local business, get the personal feel and even get your 10th coffee for free. Dont forget to grab your coffee stamp card on the shelf by the door.

Went here one evening to meet up with friends. Small and friendly pub with good menu. We all chose the Fish & Chips, which was excellent. Chips were big and Fish expertly cooked in a light batter. Importantly, both items were served hot and in a timely manner. Looking forward to visiting again very soon

Visited with friends for lunch. A pleasant local pub with - I understand - a recently renovated interior. There was a friendly welcome and the food was of good quality, reasonably priced and served in a timely manner. I would certainly visit again.
