Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon having afternoon tea. Staff were helpful and attentive, food was good. Bit disappointed with the sandwich selection compared to other venues offering afternoon tea in the area but the atmosphere was nice and views great.

I am always a bit wary of reviews that criticise restaurants because of the staff are working hard to make your dining experience the best they can. I have eaten at 6 on a number of occasions in the past often organising large parties of 20 + but I would think twice about doing so again. The reason ? We were a party of 6, 4 of whom wished to have the tasting menu and 2 of whom wished to go a la carte. When we asked for this we were told it was not possible either all 6 of had the tasting menu or nobody had it. When we queried this a) because it was not stated on the menu and b) would it have been possible if we had a table for 4 and a table for 2 we were given some vague explanation about the size of the table and the need for sharing - which I still don’t understand. We therefore all ate a la carte and the food was good but it really spoilt a long awaited rare family night out . My message would therefore be sort it out guys you are a service industry and there are plenty of other places to eat if you don’t

No better way to celebrate my birthday than at Six. Stunning views as dusk turned to evening on the Quayside. Great tasting and value for money food and drinks, along with some stunning cocktails, all wrapped up with amazing service from beginning to end. Thanks to the sweet young Irish waitress whose humour was spot on. A true asset to the place. Large restaurant, but still feels very intimate. Great views when sitting on the waterside.

Staff were all excellent. Food was great. We were there for the pre 19:00 dinner offer which was exceptionally good value. We would have been happy paying the full amount on the menu if it hadn’t been a pre theatre occasion.

We recently celebrated my dear wife's birthday at Six. Family arrived from all over the UK and abroad, and I could not have chosen a better restaurant.
Food and service were exemplary, friendly and very professional.
All our meals were faultless, and a credit to the highly talented team in the kitchen.
This was the first time we had dined at Six since moving to the North East. We look forward to returning.
Thanks to you all. A really great experience.
