Called in after going to the Time and Tide museum and seeing reviews on TA.

Had a lovely pot of tea with extra hot water and a piece of raspberry Cheesecake accompanied with a little jug of pouring cream.

Lots of meals to choose from and all reasonable prices, my bill was just£3.30.

Efficient friendly staff.

Would recommend.

Thank Helen B

We had been visiting the Time and Tide museum and went into the Silver Darlings for lunch. A lot of the tables were reserved, although there were very few people eating but we found a table for four. We ordered our food and the coffee and tea had been delivered when a large number of people came in and occupied all the reserved seats. They must have pre-ordered because after a while food started to be delivered to them but not us. When we asked where our order was we were told that the chicken for the chicken and mayo sandwich that one of us had ordered was being cooked. There was no mention in the menu of this being a hot sandwich. We had more drinks. Eventually, the food came. What had been described as smoked salmon with dill flavoured cream cheese served with salad was in fact a huge salad sandwich with a very small, thin sliver of smoked salmon. The chicken sandwich wasn't hot after all. We felt that we should have been warned about the long wait; the tables were reserved and the food almost ready to be served to these tables so the restaurant must have known.

Thank you for your review. We apologise for your disappointing visit in our cafe at busy Friday lunchtime. Yes we received a lots of lunch reservations that morning with a few pre-orders ( mainly soups). Unfortunately the time of arrival for those customers is between 12.15pm-12.45pm, so we might be one minute empty and the next one full. I can assure you, the chicken is always pan-fried freshly prior to order ( same as bacon and prawns and then mixed with cold mayonnaise) therefore there will be some waiting time experienced. We bake our baguettes and rustic bread with each order and we prepare and cook most of our meals freshly prior to order ( this is written down in the menu). You are right about mentioning the chicken being cooked freshly ( hot sandwich) and I'll make sure our catering staff give a right portion of soft cheese and smoked salmon in sandwich. Once again please accept my apology for your sandwiches taking longer to arrive, perhaps if you would like to give us another chance, you might change your opinion.

We arranged lunch here for 8 of us on a cycling tour and were thrilled with the quality of the food. Service was fast and efficient and each one of us was very pleased with the delicious food, several of which were fresh fish dishes.

Food was really nice and served quickly. Staff were friendly and easily accommodated any small changes in the menu. Really nice little spot to sit outside on a sunny day.
Easy parking across the road £1 for 2 hours.
