The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was lovely, just enough, and a nice choice, but the family room and hotel itself were so so dated and in desperate need of updating, very 1980’s decor and wallpaper was very marked and torn.

Old shabby hotel I'm afraid, with ceilings water damaged, old well worn furniture, no parking for the hotel alone, carpets seen better days, beds very uncomfortable, and in our room carpet in the bathroom causing the bathroom to smell of urine and no blind at the window.
Clean bedding, staff lovely, great location.

Needed a overnight stay and booked abjunior suite. Lovely big room and bathroom. The room was spotless as was the bathroom. The room like the rest of the hotel was crying out for a refit,
The staff were all lovely so polite and helpful. Breakfast was the usual choice and freshly cooked to order.
Good location midway along sea front. There is free general parking in front of the hotel but it took us a while to find a space. Hotel does not have its own car park.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view

Just back from the nelson hotel Great Yarmouth and we had a lovely break away. I’ll start with the good points of this hotel, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect place across the road from the sea life centre and the beach with everything very close by. Breakfast was really nice cooked to order or the usual selections of cereals tea coffee and juices. The downfall of this hotel is the parking out the front isn’t just for the guests and it’s free so a lot park here to go out for the day rather than pay for car park , not the hotels fault I know. It is very dated and well in need of updating and a good looking after with old carpets curtains and peeling ceilings and wallpaper. We had a family room that was lovely and big with a double bed and a single as well as a large bathroom with his and her basins. But again very very dated and in need of a lot of tlc it’s a shame because with abit of this it could be an amazing room, the carpet was old torn in places and bubbled up the beds omg worst ever I had marks from laying on it as the springs were picking out soooo bad I ended up sharing the double with the kids. The tails in the bathroom have next to none grout so they are really loose.
Could be the star of the show if some money was put back into this place

very nice welcome and check in, room was a decent size looking onto the seafront.
the room was very dated wallpaper peeling off the walls, the bed was very hard, the shower was warm but not much pressure as the shower head was quite old, did,nt get much sleep with motorbikes buzzing up and down the front most of the night.
ya dont need an alarm clock because the seagulls will take care of that so ask for a room at the rear. breakfast was,nt great everything overcooked not good standard.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back
