Just under a week after opening, we visited as a family of six, for an evening meal.

Having eaten at various Miller & Carter's previously, the anticipation and excitement for this one on the outskirts of Hinckley & Burbage was high. Familiar faces greeted us, having decided to stay on with Miller & Carter when they took over the venue, which is a good thing or bad thing maybe, but there seemed to be fresh looking, eager staff to compliment them.

The menu was explained after permission was given to do so, as some of our table was unfamiliar with Miller & Carter, followed with a subsequent drinks order being taken. There seemed to be quite a long ten to fifteen minute wait for them, however. Strangely, a second round of mocktail drinks for the children appeared very different from the first round. Not much consistency then, but should we be accepting of any teething problems at this stage?

Food was ordered, awkwardly at first, as electronic devices are used to note it all down. We're living in a digital age, but sometimes keeping things simple is key, especially with a seemingly basic menu catering for most tastes. Back to basics?

The meals arrived as expected and looked appetising and freshly made. The 12oz ribeye steak is a favourite of mine personally, albeit medium-rare for my taste. It arrived as such, if not slightly under maybe. Forgivable as the whole table enjoyed the meals, from starters to desserts. One can ring a bell on the way out, so make sure to ask about it.

The venue is fresh, modern and smart, with staff that compliment Miller & Carter Hinckley, being remarkably knowledgeable, attentive and responsive when questioned.

Congratulations on your first week! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Popped in for Friday night dinner a couple of weeks ago, what a transformation from the Harvester days! Ingredients were high quality and steaks tasted absolutely delicious. I honestly wasn’t expecting much, and was very pleasantly surprised. Drinks service was slightly slow, but no big deal. Felt it was good value for money. Will definitely go again.

I visited on a Sunday afternoon with a friend I haven’t seen in a while for a catch up.

We were served by Leon who was exceptional! Great sense of humour and very knowledgable about the food, he was very professional but had a great balance to make the atmosphere relaxed too.

We had starters, steak and I had a dessert. Along with soft drinks.

Food was very tasty and steak was cooked exactly as requested. Great value for money too, it’s not a cheap restaurant but the food quality is very good for the price. If you’re looking for a huge plate of chips and a tasteless chunk of gristly steak for under a tenner, this isn’t the place for you. However, if you are looking for a 2 inch thick juicy, tender steak with a side of crisp fries, get booking!

But do try and grab a seat in Leon’s section!

First visit and we are sure that we will return. Had fillet steaks, cooked medium rare and they were. Lovely atmosphere and décor, difficult to imagine that this was the old Harvester.
The food was superb, beautifully presented and all served in a efficient, friendly way.
Bit of a gripe, we asked the waitress to explain the sauces to be served with the steak and she said she had only been their 4 days and didn't know. As this is an upmarket establishment the manager should ensure ALL the staff understand the menus.
One other disappointment was that even though it was only 19.45 on a Saturday they did not have the 50 day wet aged Sirloin and even more surprisingly no Cheeseboard.

Took 3 attempts to get us a suitable table with room for the buggy, even though we had booked on line and notified the house. We were NOT seated in the section we wanted, but after 3 attempts did not push our luck.

Waitress was OK, certainly had better. Ordered from the day menu, starters mains and puddings were very good although a blue steak was virtually cold. Good portions .

However it took trhree attempts to get the bill correct. Two goes at overcharging (this has happened at a couple of M & C restaurants in the past, maybe the staff just can't add up). Eventually got a bill we could agree on.

Would I go again? Probably, but I would certainly check the bill very closely
