“A wee bit of heaven”
Reviewed 21 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Ashtrees Cottage is a fantastic cottage in a beautiful rural area in central Scotland with quick access to many attractions. My husband and I recently stayed here for three nights and didn't want to leave. We found Maggie, the owner, friendly and extremely helpful and the cottage is just perfect for relaxation and touring.
We have stayed in many cottages in the UK but this one is a step above the others! Heated bathroom floor! Automatic/motion lights on the stairs! Perfectly seasoned wood and kindling for the wood stove! Beautiful sweeping views of the mountains, cows, and Loche Leven from every window! Large screen TV with Netflix! I don't think she has forgotten anything. There is even outdoor seating in the private garden with an apple tree ripe for picking. The country lane Ashtrees Cottage is located on is quiet and serene, yet there is a pub at the bottom of the hill where we had two superb meals. (I would especially recommend the sticky pudding for dessert!)
Maggie gave us some suggestions for restaurants and her picks were right on target. Loche Leven's Larder is a must for breakfast, lunch, or tea! Fun gift shop, the best scones in the area, and a delightful view of the loche.
Maggie, we sincerely hope we can come back to Scotland and stay in your beautiful cottage again. You definitely helped make our trip a memorable one!
Thank you!

“Excellent accommodation in an excellent location”
Reviewed 2 October 2017 for a stay in September 2017

This is a beautiful house with amazing views. In a central location in Scotland it is at the gateway to the Highlands but Edinburgh & Glasgow are also within easy reach. The owners, Maggie & Michael, are the friendliest people you will ever meet & they make sure your stay is a perfect one. Everything is taken care of down to the last detail. It is an 'upside-down' house with the bedrooms downstairs & the living room & kitchen upstairs. This is to take advantage of the prominent position of the cottage to maximise the views of the surrounding countryside & Loch Leven which is close by. There are a few excellent places to eat within walking distance & more in the nearby town of Kinross. Perth is a short car journey away. We can't wait for our next visit.

“Beautiful, warm and welcoming base for visiting Central Scotland!”
Reviewed 3 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Just outside Kinross, Ashtrees Cottage overlooks beautiful Loch Leven, and is within easy driving distance of Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling, St Andrews and Dundee - so you have access to a wealth of cultural, historical and leisure/entertainment attractions. It is set in lovely walking countryside with fabulous views and a cosy pub less than 5 minutes away.

Delightfully furnished - two bedrooms, whirlpool bath and easy to light stove providing great warmth in an open plan upstairs with windows on all sides - the cottage is hard to beat for a warm welcome and calm, serene place to unwind. Owners delightful people who can't do enough to make guests welcome and feel special.

Highly recommended!

“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed 7 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

I stayed at Ashtrees cottage with my wife and 2 children for 2 nights in August. On arrival we found the cottage spotlessly clean and very welcoming. Our 7 year old son loved the bunk beds and couldn't wait to get in them. The kitchen has ever utensil you would need and plenty of glasses, cups, crockery so you don't need to be washing them after every use. There is a wonderful log burning stove in the living room, although it was August and very warm we couldn't resist lighting it and watching the flames dance all evening. The cottage also has a country pub about 2 minutes walk away which is very welcoming and serves a good pint and fine pub grub. The owners Maggie and Micheal were great, they came out to welcome us to the cottage and give us a run down of how everything in the cottage works. As they are local they also have us some ideas of things to do and places to visit.

We had a great time and will definitely be back.
