“SO GOOD WE HAD TO RETURN”
Reviewed 9 June 2017 for a stay in March 2017

We had stayed in Tammie Norie before and loved everything about so we just had to come back. We didn't get to see Steve or Gillian this time but were delightfully welcomed and looked after by the lovely Louise. Once again we were happy with all aspects of the accommodation and can only look forward to the next time we are able to stay here.

“Super comfortable apartment, warm hosts and great value for money - what more could you want!”
Reviewed 17 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Super happy with our choice to stay here. It was nice staying on the outskirts of Lerwick slightly closer to Scalloway, and the accommodation itself is modern, clean and top quality. Would happily stay here again next time I am traveling to the Shetlands! Definitely worth a look.

Thank you Mark, It was lovely to meet you both - you certainly seemed to be enjoying your short trip to Shetland - we hope it was just a taster and you will come back to our islands for a closer look, and it just might be warmer! Gillian & Steve

“Superb Apartment”
Reviewed 13 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed in Tammie Norie, a first floor one bedroom-apartment in the converted Decca building.
The owners have thought of everything. Modern, spotless, well furnished to a high standard and well equipped with washing machine & dishwasher. Also telly, free wi-fi, and lots of DVDs, books, guide books and maps. Milk in the fridge and plenty of tea / coffee and even a welcome bottle of beer! They also gave us an updated list of "things to do" for the week we were there. Heating & hot water included and all ready for us when we arrived.
Site is a bit out of town and exposed, but well insulated.
Not the cheapest, but worth every penny.

“Great accomodation just out of town, Modern and spacious house”
Reviewed 5 October 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Tammie Norie at Self Catering Shetland is an extremely well-appointed upstairs 3-bedroom apartment just outside Lerwick.
I was travelling for business and a local resident recommended this accommodation, and I was pleasantly surprise on arrival to a lovely 3 bed house, well appointed and spacious as well
The kitchen area includes a cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, TV and excellent free Wi-Fi.
The 3 bedrooms have a mix of double & twin beds; I was a solo traveller so I was spoilt for choice for sleeping arrangements

Steve, my host, was extremely helpful with local knowledge and provided a few basic provisions for our arrival.

The flat's locations is just on the outskirts of Lerwick, but still close enough to the town for easy access, but a car is probably required to access the town centre

Steve had left Tea, Coffee, milk, butter and bread for my arrival along with toiletries as well.
There were local biscuits and local brewed beer for my stay which was a nice touch.
Overall these self catering apartments were first class, and a credit to the owners who have great accommodation at very good prices and well worth a visit.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay with - though the houses are Skarf and Grey Gos (Tammie Norie is our ONE bedroom first floor apartment).
We would agree that a car is prefeable, especially between mid Sept - March, when the days are shorter and the weather is wilder! Maybe see you again soon - Gillian & Steve

“Excellent place to stay”

Tammie Norie which is a one bedroom apartment at The Decca was a great place to stay. It was comfy, had all home comforts, a great welcome with all supplies for a hot drink and a bottle of Shetland beer and was very warm. Highly recommended. However if you are not fit and haven't got a car, the 1 1/2 mile walk to Lerwick centre is down a long hill, meaning a long uphill back. A good work-out ...

We are glad you enjoyed Tammie Norie as your base - yes we do agree that the walk back is more daunting than the walk into town - we often recommend the walk into town, be it for the lovely coastal walks, cafes, or in the evening for a meal and 'refreshments' and a taxi back, which is around £6 :-) Hopefully we shall see you both again soon and enjoy the rest of the summer - Gillian & Steve :-)
