I preferred the promenade, but it was still interesting to see what was going on in the harbour too.
As you go into Lowestoft from the north, turn down towards the sea and head for the wind turbine. It apparently has the largest blades in Europe (60m) and is quite beautiful. Walk along the breakwater in front of it and there is a large circle on the ground like a big compass, with distances to farflung cities engraved on it. Also interesting but hardly noticeable unless someone tells you its there. (We were told by the very helpful E-on man in the wind turbine exhibition at Great Yarmouth)!!
Its small not much going on, not much to see. There where a few nice boats but not more can be said.
Oh, it cost's an arm and leg to park near the harbour, 90p an hour, which in there area as a whole seems to be the starting price.
Lovely views of the wind farms and very peaceful a lovely place to relax and enjoy.
needs a complete uplight of the area nothing special to see
Visit Tides Reach along the prom betwixt the Harbour and Hatfield Hotel meet Martin & Emma have a coffee make friends with the locals and if you have a doggie you'll be very popular its the local watering hole for all the dog lovers/walkers very friendly people cant wait to go again
