What can I say... such a warm welcome to this quaint and quirky hotel. All the rooms have character and the garden is beautiful.
We are a family of 7 and decided to eat here after a long day... best choice all round.
Home cooked food was served with a smile and nothing too much trouble and I have to say the quality was outstanding.
We all retired to the cosy bar for an after dinner tipple and chat with the owners.
I wish we had booked for longer however we will definitely be returning, once we can all do our waistband up again..
Thank you Trish & Steve

Our room was fine with en suite and roll top bath in the bedroom. This is a very old building and so there was a beam in an awkward place which made it difficult to have 2 bedside tables, but I do think a little table with a lamp in the far corner would be possible, difficult for late night readers without a bedside lamp!! The first night we slept well but the second night noise from the bar carried to our room until midnight which spoilt a second nights good sleep. The breakfast was fine and set us up for the day. The decoration is a little tired but I am sure that the new owners will be dealing with that. Our view out of the window was another part of the roof which was disappointing , but all in all reasonable value for money

Room Tip: Room 6 had no view , not sure about the other rooms

I was a little concerned having booked this little hotel up totally for wedding guests and a night before the wedding meal for 35 people to discover that it had changed hands the week before our function. I need not have been.
Trish, Steve and the team pulled out all the stops and served a banquet fit for royalty. All our relatives and friends enjoyed their evening thoroughly and those who stayed were full of praise.
We eat there regularly now, and are always assured of a warm and friendly welcome. I cheekily asked whether we could have a steak takeaway when I dropped in for an excellent pint of real ale on the way home recently, and was amazed that they even catered for my request by producing the best fillet steaks that I have ever tasted, on plates, with all the trimmings and covered with foil for transport home! Thank heaven we are local!
We are truly blessed to have such a fine establishment "just up the road", run by such attentive people. Thank you one and all. Keep up the fine work.

Quiet compact comfortable room at a good price. Hospitable hosts who put their clients needs first. Little passing traffic allows for a good night sleep. Easy access to Tavistock and local attractions
