We've just returned from staying there for 2 nights. The house is absolutely beautiful and only a short walk into town.

The owner and his wife are very nice people and the breakfasts were excellent.

Never been to a place before where I felt guilty messing the room up because it was so clean and tidy as was the en suite.

Very good all round, would definately recommend.

We stopped at the Appletree on the third day of bed and breakfasts my husband David and I stayed in during our three day, 102 mile, coast to coast cycle ride from Ilfracoombe to Plymouth. Previously staying in The Townhouse, Exeter and Half Moon Inn, Sheepwash.

Here we stayed in room number 1, the honeymoon suite, and after 22 miles of cycling from Oakhampton we arrived early afternoon and were thrilled to enjoy such a beautiful room.

The owner, Andy, saw how exhausted we were on arrival and made us a pot of tea to have in our room – perfect!

Breakfast was served in a beautiful room overlooking the garden on the ground floor. The breakfast was delicious, and Andy wrapped out our uneaten sausages for our trip during the day. What a top man!

The attention to detail throughout the hotel, especially in our room, was really impressive from floor to ceiling. Read the guest books while you're there, the Appletree truly deserves all the praise it receives.

Room Tip: Ask for the honeymoon suite, you will be absolutely delighted!

My partner and I wanted to stop in Tavistock for a few days before working our way to the Cornish coast and from the reputation and website information, the Apple Tree seemed the obvious choice. The Hosts were bubbly and polite and made us feel very comfortable and at home from the get-go. The room was light, spacious and immaculate, which made it so easy to unwind especially after a long car journey. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning ! We went as a couple but feel the place could cater for all trips!

My husband and I decided at the last minute to have a weekend escape and Apple Tree Bed and Breakfast was perfect. We had visited with friends last year and were delighted to find our memories were correct and if anything not as good as they should have been! From booking to checking out our whole experience was fantastic and just what we needed to recharge our batteries from the day to day pressures of life in the midlands. Room was airy, clean, welcoming and peaceful, bathroom superb, breakfast first class and location within five mins walk of the centre of Tavistock but seemed so peaceful! parking on site was a bonus as was the lovely experience of the town of Tavistock and the markets. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly and attentive but not imposing and we will definately be returning - hopefully sooner rather than later.

I have to travel to Tavistock regularly and I always try to stay at the Apple Tree. Not only is it very comfortable but Andy and Jane are very welcoming and helpful hosts and there is a great breakfast. It offers excellent value for money.
