“Lovely peaceful lodges”

Have stayed here twice over last few years. New owners have refurbished the lodges to a very good standard. There's a swimming pool & games room to keep children amused. The local area is very pretty with lots of family day out locations within driving distance. Will definitely stay again. Thanks for a lovely mini break with family & friends

“Small, yet spacious”

From arrival to departure we were warmly welcomed every time to the site. Our lodge was clean and tidy, with plenty of space and well kept furnishings. Plenty of fluffy towels and fresh linen (including tea-towels and washing up items). The lodges were spaced out to ensure sufficient privacy. The swimming pool and games room (which also had wifi) was a hit with the children. Location was good, 10 minutes from the motorway at Ashford.
Not a site if you are after evening entertainment or kids clubs (we didn't want them, and was a prime reason we chose the site!). But if you want a small, warm and friendly site then this is the place.
We are looking forward to going back to in the future :)
Thank you for making us so welcome!

“Great Lodges, service even better!”

We stayed at Eversleigh shortly after Easter, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Don't be deceived by what you see from the road - the Lodges are several hundred yards down the drive behind the owner's house, right into where the woodland starts - we heard at least one owl at night, and plenty of birdsong in the morning!

The attention to detail was noticable. The owners welcomed us, checked everything was OK and confirmed with us about the storage heaters and their settings, and as we discovered one night, if you're coming back in the dark there's even a discreet set of fairy lights by the drive so you don't miss the turning. The Lodge was furnished to a very good standard, and despite it still being cold enough for frost on a couple of mornings the combination of storage heaters and an electric fire in the lounge meant we never felt cold. It did affect the Swimming Pool however, which remained somewhat bracing....

What really stood out though was the attitude of the owners. Nothing was too much trouble: most notably, when our daughter was sick in the bedroom they showed no signs of being cross with us and were brilliant in terms of providing cloths, cleaning materials and fresh bedding when we asked for them. We will definitely be stopping with them again, and next time we'll book through their own site rather than Hoseasons!

One thing to note - there is WiFi available, but you have to go to the Games Room to use it. Not a problem, just don't expect it in the Lodges themselves.

Liked best: The way the Lodge was furnished and the Customer Service
Liked least: Err, the swimming pool was a bit cold? Mind you, it was freezing outside....

“Owners couldn't have been more friendly”
Reviewed 16 February 2013 for a stay in November 2012

I was contracting in London and looking at Kent as a potential place to move to so I decided to find a place to stay near Ashford. After a while of searching I found this place online, it was 2 bedroom so it had the added bonus of meaning that my wife and kids could stay with me there while I was working and it worked out no more expensive than an average hotel in London.

Anyway, we got there and the place had everything you could need, and the owners were really friendly. If anything went wrong while we were there the owners went out of their way to put it right really quickly. They even gave us a second key so that both the wife and I could come and go as we pleased.

Location wise the property was a short 10 minutes from Ashford International Station where the high speed line makes it perfect for access to London or to the Eurostar for trips to France. Also as Ashford is more or less in the centre of Kent and is linked to London, Maidstone, Folkestone and Dover via motorways it is a really great place to get around.

Ashford centre itself was alright, however Ashford can be a tad unsavoury at night. As this property was just outside of Ashford in Shadoxhurst it was perfectly pleasant. If you're looking for places to visit though Canterbury was around 45 minutes from the property and is quite a nice little place and my wife took the kids to a number of tourist attractions while I was at work including Howletts and Leeds Castle so there is plenty to do as a family.

Shopping wise, there is a designer outlet in Ashford that's quite good and Bluewater is around an hour away towards London. If you need food there is a big Tesco's and ASDA around 10 minutes away, though about 15 minutes away there is a Waitrose and an absolutely huge Sainsbury's. Most of the time I'd travel the extra distance just for the better quality fruit, vegetables and meats.

Going back to the property though, it was big enough, the setting was a really nice countryside setting and had all the amenities you could want. A bath would have been a nice addition but the shower was perfectly fine.

We had some trouble accessing the internet but didn't report it to the owner as I was tethered via my mobile phone (I work in IT). My only real problem was that I felt bad as I forgot to clear out the fridge before we left
