“Autumn break”
Reviewed 23 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We simply loved it. After several holiday places this is my absolute favorite. Everything we needed was present including a well filled fridge ,a bottle of wine and some crisp.Even some fruit on display.
2 bathrooms for 5 persons is quite luxury. The atmosphere of the cottage is relaxation and the beautiful garden is filled with nice birds and squirrels. We've spotted deers at just 50 meters from the premises and the sky was full of stars which were well vissible because there almost was no light pollution.Don't be afraid if you hear outside screaming at night. Owls are responsible for that spooky sound.Even Brown trout and river lobster in the little stream next to the cottage . All of that at just a 20 minutes bike ride from the beautiful city center of Banbury.Mery and Jane are the perfect hostesses with nice tips for nearby events . Can't wait to visit Lavender cottage again in summer time.

“Beautiful cottage and garden, in a peaceful and ideal location”
Reviewed 19 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

When we arrived we were greeted by the owners and made to feel very welcome. We arrived early evening from Scotland, and they had wine and pasta in the fridge for us. Also bread rolls, milk, cereal etc. for the following morning. We had our little dog with us and there were doggy treats blankets, towels etc . In fact we really didn't want for anything.
The cottage itself was beautiful, especially the kitchen looking on to a garden which invited a host of birds and a squirrel. The weather was fantastic and it just made it even more enjoyable.
Bed was comfortable and we slept like logs, so quiet and peaceful. Dogs are not allowed upstairs, which probably caused me more stress than the dog to be honest. But it reassures you that the bedroom is clean and with no dog hairs.
I would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return again next year.

“A delightful cottage”
Reviewed 13 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We were greeted by the owner who made sure that we had milk, bread, coffee, tea, bacon, eggs, you name it. All over and above what we had anticipated - a lovely welcome.
The cottage is a delight. Very old but tastefully modernised throughout.
Our stay was over all too quickly.

It was a pleasure to be a host to Jon and his family, friendly, polite and tidy, its always nice when people appreciate the cottage. Yes it is old and therefor needs regular maintenance. we have a maintenance week in October. during this time we also have the chimney swept and the pat testing done. We hope that with a regular maintenance week we can keep on top.

“Simply the best”
Reviewed 31 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This self catering break was the best we have ever experienced. The cottage, garden and hosts were just perfect. Mery and Jane were helpful and friendly. They live next door, so are on hand for any problems/queries.

The cottage was delightful, full of charm and character, with great attention to detail - they have thought of everything one might need whilst on a break. There are all mod cons (dishwasher, washing machine, hob and oven, microwave, etc) available.

And the garden (which is shared with our hosts) was an absolute delight. They made us and our dog feel very welcome. (NB Dogs are not allowed upstairs, and there is a stairgate to help facilitate this. It was not a problem.)

We could have stayed there forever. Absolutely marvellous.

Hello Janet, it was a delight to meet you and your sister and pooch. We really appreciate the fact that the cottage was left immaculate. We are still trying to locate a local mobility scooter wizz as you made us realise that is quite important. We love to see you again in the future, it's great when our guests enjoyed themselves that much they want to come back. Thank you

“Idyllic location and gorgeous house”
Reviewed 19 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

What a find! The house is gorgeous - extremely well equipped and the attention to detail is fantastic - there was even a baby bath, highchair and a box of toys for our 11 month old son to use. The owners were very welcoming and had thought of everything. The location is idyllic and there are lots of lovely walks nearby - we'll definitely be back with our dog to explore some more!
