Lovely clean comfortable modern rooms in the pubs court yard. Good location within walking distance of local restaurants and good base for sight seeing in the surrounding areas. Very friendly landlord who let us park our motorbike in his garage.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your stay. The pub is in a good location to visit all of Buxton's tourist attractions and I'm pleased you were able to take full advantage of this.

The Queens Head was 1 of 5 hotels I stayed in during a 10 day tour around England with my partner.
We started @ Blackpool, stayed in Liverpool, stopped in Manchester, then on to a 2 night stop in Buxton. We arrived @ 18:00, having been on-the-go since 10, check in was really simple, & even a slight issue was waved aside so we could go to our rooms & rest.
The room was clean & well presented, there were clean hand towels, & the "large" towels I would describe as bath sheets, as opposed to bath towels. (I'm a larger lady & found this v snuggly-satisfying)
During our stay the staff were as helpful as they could be, really friendly, & even recommended (& recommended -to-avoid) eateries in the area as they don't serve food, (except breakfast to guests only), even indicating that if we bought take-away they'd provide us with cutlery & crockery if we wish to eat either in their pub or back in our room.
This was the best of the "private" stop-overs, the only 1 to match was 1 night we spent in a travelodge.
We're so strong in wishing to recommend this as a great place to stay we've already arranged to take a friend to stay there (once 3 full-time-shift-workers can arrange a weekend off together)

We stayed over a weekend and luckily it was a great place to walk around the sights in Buxton or to enjoy the gorgeous walks around the countryside!
The pub was lively and buzzing. I don't think I have ever had such a welcome from the friendly bar staff who couldn't do enough to make sure all the little details of our stay was enjoyable.
The food was tasty in the morning and the little hotel at the back enabled us to get away to the peace of our room after a few drinks in the evening with the locals.
All clean and tidy too!
I don't know how the keep the staff so happy but they all deserve a huge pay rise :) Thanks so much for making our stay so wonderful! Back to work now sadly but we will be back :( xx

Room Tip: The staff will accommodate your needs if they can ...just ask!

We stayed at the Queens on Saturday 10th June after seeing Ken Dodd at the Opera house. We arrive early @ 12.30 to check in. The hotel staff were very helpful and dealt with check in very efficiently, they were a very young team of staff. We stayed in Rm 3 which was a family room with a double bed and 2 single beds, the room was clean but with all the beds it was not very spacious we would have much preferred a double room. The bathroom was adequate with a shower over the bath, nice soft towels and toiletries available. After the Opera house we return late back to the hotel which was a very lively rock bar, there was a loud live band on and it was full of happy young revellers having a good dance and drink, we sat at the bar enjoying the liveliness of the venue but being in our 50;s we soon retired to bed!!.The hotel bar is a local pub and very busy on a Saturday night but there is lots of other pubs close to visit if it is to loud. The hotel rooms are separate from the pub and are in a converted annex area at the back. Next door is a take -away which stays open till very late which was handy as we had not eaten, so we gathered some supper and retired to bed. We were very please to find that we could not hear any noise at all from the bar the room was very quiet indeed and we had a very comfortable sleep. We enjoyed our stay and would return because the hotel is in a very good location.

Room Tip: Room 3 was very quiet but you have to climb stairs
