Firstly we have had our wedding booked at this hotel for over a year, we spent nearly £3000 and it was worth every penny! The 3 course wedding breakfast was beautiful- every single person enjoyed it and there were plenty of clean plates at the end! The host and the staff helping with the wedding were extremley helpful and understanding. we had the high peak room for the wedding breakfast/evening and it was set up beautifully, we can't thank everyone enough for helping make the day perfect! All of the rooms for our guests were huge, clean and absolutley lovely! No complaints at all. Myself and my husband were booked into the palace suite- complimentry for the bride & groom! so impressed big screen tvs in each room, amazing kingsize bed and the bath was heaven! The breakfast each morning was delicious, plenty of it as well so not sure why people are moaning! All tasted lovely even our fussy daughters came out with full tummies! We enjoyed the hotel that much we booked to stay in the palace suite for an extra night! Will definitley be staying here again on our next trip to Buxton. And finally can't thank the staff for helping with all the kids letting them run round and keeping them safe. Thank You for the best weekend!

Room Tip: The Placae suite! worth every penny

We visited the Palace this is an imposing building with character, the public areas are well decorated adding to the style of the building.
The ceilings are high with large windows in the victorian style. Our room was freshly painted it's was immaculate and a good size.
Britania Hotels are never great on Tvs but we are not there to watch the telly. The food was buffet style in a carvery it w#s well presented and a good selection the chef was keen to talk about the food.
This was a good break a warm immaculate room in a character hotel a stunning staircase from the hall to upper floors.
You can buy parking use it to the maximum as parking in Buxton is scarce and expensive what seems like an extra charge it's good value in Buxton.
Every member of the hotel team we met was professional.

Went for a two night break for our anniversary. Nice room overlooking the front which was very nice with an excellent view. Breakfast plentiful but not very hot.
Staff very helpful . Hotel was a lot nicer when we stayed there a few years ago.

Staff lovely, hard working but not enough, Britannia pay minimum wage and put too much pressure in a understaffed busy hotel , food, no permanent chef since January, sweets bought in ready made, starters very poor, main very little choice, 2 dishes repeated on both nights , plate warmers not working , carvery (not )only chicken breast and tough pork chop ,potatoes used from day before (oh I'm a chef and know my food ) Room - dusty, dirty under the bed , tiny,no tea, coffee, spoons, biscuits or water, no tissues and only one toilet roll . Cleaning was done to a much better standard after complaining. It's such a shame the company (Britannia) don't sort the problems out quickly as more and more complaints are being made and although I wrote to them (Britannia) they haven't responded and a lovely hotel goes to waste definitely not worth £160.00 per night bb eve meal +£10.00 for the dog although they have allocated dog rooms that are at the far sides of the hotel not in any of the rooms shown on the site and the only gardens we saw were the ones at the front of the hotel.

A three night stay visiting the area. The hotel is a grand old building, old being the best way of describing it. It must be difficult balancing maintenance with making money in any hotel but they have not got it right here. Charging for parking is a disappointment but it is not excessive. Space not guaranteed. Penny pinching is totally wrong, bottled water not replaced and although tea / coffee was the biscuits were not. Friday nights meal was described as a carvery, more of a hot buffet. Although the food was not HOT it was tasty. Saturdays cooked breakfast was at best warm. Did not eat at the hotel Saturday night. Sunday breakfast was a shambles. There were less staff and more guests, they were unable to clear tables quick enough and failed to replenish the tables with the basic cutlery etc. The staff struggled to replenish the food quick enough, long queue but it was hot when it appeared. No pastries provided, they were back the following morning. Sunday evening meal was a disappointment, again a hot buffet but it was not as tasty as Friday nights meal. I presume a different chef. So unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel which is a shame as it was a grand hotel sometime ago and the location is excellent if visiting the area.
