“2nd stay, thoroughly enjoyed, great place to stay”
Reviewed 13 July 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Having stayed at the Pavement Palace in November 2015 for s couple of nights, we booked for a five days in the week before the Hay Festival.
The PP is a great place to stay. Very comfortable, superbly located, and with every facility. Interestingly quirky without being challenging, James has designed a real gem.
For a relaxed visit to Hay, with a perfect central location, with great support from the owner, the Pavement Palace is ideal and thoroughly recommended. So much so we have booked for the Hay winter festival week as well.

“Great stay in the middle of Hay on Wye”
Reviewed 9 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This is a LOVELY place in the centre of town--it is a short walk to good restaurants, all the bookstores and antiques. It is very nicely fitted out, with charming furniture etc and has been recently renovated to a high standard. We are very much looking forward to using it again. Perhaps the only downside is that it does not have close parking, meaning that you need to unpack and park your car down the hill in a public carpark. Highly recommended and the owner is a terrific guy to boot!

“Fabulous treat”

James has created a haven in the center of Hay on Wye. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and oozing character - a true labour of love. Luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, thick fluffy white towels, logs for the fire, fully equipped kitchen and a friendly host. We loved it so much we didn't want to leave. Just book it and see for yourself!

Had a lovely break here, nestled right in the centre of town on a quiet pedestrianised road.
Lovely feel to the apartment with nice touches - logs for the log burner, real coffee for the caffetiere. Everything was easy and I would highly recommend staying here.

“Quirky, comfortable and very convenient”

Take a deep breath as you approach the entrance door ! The passageway misleads, but a treasure awaits beyond.
The kitchen is better equipped than ours at home with every utensil and appliance you could possibly need. Fresh coffee, varieties of tea are all in abundance. Bathroom/wc with bath/shower lead off.
Upstairs you will find a large lounge with woodburner (logs firelighters etc included) A double bedroom with wc and wb completes the accommodation all of which has the benefit of a very efficient central heating system delivered via classic period style radiators.
The antique furnishings and scatter rugs complement the beamed ceilings.
Centrally located, the only downsides would be for those of limited mobility due to the shower over the bath, the stairs and the need to walk for car parking. Otherwise a great find!
