We booked to stay for a week , we had a few trepidations as there were no reviews on the internet , but realising that this was because these are brand new on the holiday market.
Let's start with location, the cottage in on a working farm with sheep, cattle, horses and 3 donkeys, and is about 15 minutes drive from the nearest town Cahir. Nearby there is Cahir castle, the Swiss cottage and Mitchell's town caves, all worth a visit. We traveled as an older family and like history scenery and general things to see, and within an hour or so drive there is plenty to see and do.
The cottage is large, and recently done up. A great kitchen dining room with a massive original fireplace (we went in the heatwave so no fires for us) a conservatory lounge with Freesat TV. Large beautiful comfortable bedrooms and a couple of bathrooms.
A beautiful peaceful cottage with everything you could need.
Paul and Evelyn the owners are superb hosts and will do anything to make your stay , Paul even has a minibus and will drive people on local tours or even to the pub and back.
If you want to chill out this place is for you and if you are wanting to explore this part of southern Ireland Mary Kate's is a perfect location .
