We stayed here for 3 nights in October school break. Cottage is very warm and comfortable. Good size. Lovely garden, beautiful views and very peaceful. Lots to do in area. Crieff is nearby and is a really nice town, nice range of shops, cafes etc. We went to the Enchanted Forest at Pitlochry, Auchingarrick wildlife park at Comrie and Mcrosty park in Crieff. Kids were really excited to see a red squirrel in cottage garden!
We spent a delightful week staying at Sma Glen cottage at the end of August. The cottage is located at the bottom of the Glenn amid spectacular scenery. It stands at the head of a small forest at the side of the hill with the river Almond on the other side of the road. Our stay was very peaceful, the cottage is situated close enough to Crieff for easy access to the local amenities.
We spent the week visiting various local attractions such as Perth, The Falls of Dochart, Dunkeld, Pitlochry and had a day trip with the family to Edinburgh. The area has plenty to visit and it was easy to keep our young family entertained.
On arrival the cottage was spotless. The owners had left some lovely local produce which was really nice surprise, very much appreciated during our stay. The cottage was much larger inside than the exterior pictures suggest providing plenty of place for our children to play. It had a warm cosy feel to it and the amenities inside were good.
The cottage is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Everyone slept very well and the kids loved sleeping in the bunk beds! The cottage does not have a TV signal but does have broadband and plenty of games and DVD to play although these were largely not needed as we spent most of the time outside.
The garden is a lovely space and we really appreciated being able to shut the gates so that the children could play in an enclosed space in safety. The cottage gives easy access to plenty of local walks and the children loved exploring the woodland behind the cottage and the hillside of the glen which was covered with ferns and heather.
The location of the cottage is fantastic for spotting wildlife. There was a great variety of different bird species and we had regular visits from grouse which would feed on the hillside visible through the kitchen window. My children loved being able to feed the birds with the seed provided in the cottage.
We had quite a few meals out during our stay with one of our favourites being Delvino, on King Street in Crieff. There are plenty of shops in the local town of Crieff, including a local leisure centre where we went swimming and had the whole pool to ourselves. Those looking for bigger shops will need to travel further afield to Perth where you will find plenty of local supermarkets and high street shops. Perth was a lovely city, well worth a visit and a walk round the gardens during your say.
We had a wonderful time during our visit, I can highly recommended it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sma Glen Cottage. Really appreciated the welcome pack of wine, shortbread and oatcakes. Our dog loved the garden and it was nice to have the security of it being totally enclosed. Facilities in the cottage were excellent. We didn't feel the lack of TV as there was so much to see from the garden, from red squirrels, deer and owls! It is perfectly placed for exploring the area, we were spoilt for choice each day of where to go. If there was any negative it would be that the beds and sofas were very uncomfortable and could do with being replaced. However we would very much like to return!
Had a great time at Sma Glen Cottage. Beautiful scenery and a lovely home. Enjoyed lovely forest walks and my dog a great time! Will definitely be back!

We have just returned from a fantastic week at the Sma Glen Cottage. 5 Adults, 2 Children aged 14 & 9 and our Cockapoo Teddy. The cottage was a lot bigger than we expected. It has a lovely homely feel in a beautiful setting. The bedrooms were all of a good size with plenty of wardrobe space & chest of drawers. The beds were very comfy and the cottage was well stocked of books, DVDs & board games.
The cottage is all set on one floor, with a shower, so this was great for my elderly in laws.
The garden was lovely. BBQ, Plenty of seating and it was Safe for our dog. It was so tranquil, lovely listening to the sheep and the waterfall.
We walked for miles, and enjoyed returning to the area which we love and have spent many years visiting.
We visited Pitlochry and the children enjoyed going to The Soldiers Leap at Killiecrankie. Crieff is only 6 miles away, should you require essentials.
It was great spending a week with no tv, so we actually spoke to one another (haha) We played board games and cards of an evening around the table(which fitted us all around it comfortably)
There was wifi which was an added bonus for the children, but they rarely used it.
We even managed to walk up to the top of the hill to the back of the cottage!
We hope to return in the future.
