Description: Public house and venue situated on the banks of the river Tay, in Highland Perthshire. The Taybank changed hands in Summer 2014 and is currently undergoing some much needed, and significant renovation work. During the renovation, the bar has been open, the kitchen continues to get better and better under the supervision of our fantastic new head chef, and our music sessions play on... bar food and drink was ok...
we were staying in the village with 2 french couples on their first visit to perthshire. we saw the regular music evening advertised on the taybank site, however it turned out to be a large table of musicians/singers (american I think) who took up most of the seats in the bar and formed a circle turning their backs on the rest of the people who had came to hear them.....we finished our drinks and left....

I visited on a Monday evening for dinner and ordered the Ox Cheek. The food was absolutely delicious with melt-in-the-mouth meat and they also served nice local ale. The portion was generous, a lovely large cut of meat. Sadly there was only one pudding left on the menu. The barman was very friendly and helpful. Fantastic view right opposite the river and Telford's Bridge. I would love to return in the summer.

This central riverside hotel has been a favourite with the locals for years due to its musical connections and although it has been thankfuly refurbed there is still a upright piano in the bar.The old open fire previously never lit in daytime ,toilets and stovies are gone but the menu is varied and new but with no snacks mainly proper meals. The beer remains local and good including Timothy Taylor landlord. There was plenty heat from theNorwegian stove ,service was polite and profesional and for the summer there is much outdoor seating both beside the hotel and across the road in the free car park overlooking the river Tay Gents toilets are now first class and situated on the first floor

With snowy conditions outside, had a fantastic meal upstairs in the new cocktail bar. Warm and cozy!
