Enjoyed our visit on a very busy Easter holidays day. Book online in advance for much better rates. Centre was very informative for children and adults. The last talk we listened to/saw before we left was the turtle being fed and a very passionate talk about how far too much plastic is in the worlds oceans and how we all need to cut back on use as it is killing marine wildlife. We then went to hand in our children’s stamp cards/quiz card and they were rewarded with a medal (plastic) and a badge (plastic). We are probably as bad as the next family for having too much plastic in our lives but this was ridiculous timing!! If you need to hand out something maybe it should be made of something other than plastic?!? Great couple of hours out though.

Dear Guest,

Thank-you for taking the time to review us here at Scarborough SEA Life.

I am pleased to read you found the talks and demonstrations of use and that you came away learning something new and valuable.

The pop badges handed out on site are in fact bio-degradable. We are currently making every effort to faze out plastic products within SEA Life and so far have seen a huge decrease in the amount used on site. We no longer use plastic packaging in the gift shop and our cups in the restaurant have recently been swapped out for recyclable cups. However this is an on-going process and one we will not give up on until we have fazed out all plastics in the SEA Life.

The medals we hand out on site that are given to the children at the end of their activity trail are currently made of plastic, however please rest assured that these too are being fazed out and we have coming in the very near future a design of medal, made from cardboard. These are currently in the process of being manufactured and will be on site before the start of the summer season.

I hope this resolves any of the concerns you have, please feel free to give us a call on 01723 373414 should you wish to learn any more about the work being done on site regarding the use of plastics.

Many thanks and kind regards

Had a brilliant time with my 9 year old niece today. She absolutely loved it. Highlights were definitely the seeing the seals bobbing around, watching the young seals in the hospital and watching the penguins dart around in the water. Good value for money as booked gold package on-line. Enjoyed the pirate mini-gold that was included in the price too! Definitely recommend.

Me and my partner went for the first time and was told octopus area was closed due to work been done. However due to this we were both given free tickets to return in the next couple of months to see the work completed. A wide variety of sea life and very educational for all. Hands on tank was very informative and absolutely brilliant for all!

Disappointing visit - outside now looks dated. Despite pre booking on line, there were far to many people in the place at any one time making it very loud and problematic for my wife who was on crutches. Children struggled to see the fish as so many people. Didn’t justify the cost even with on line discount !!

Dear Guest,

I am sorry to read you were disappointed at your visit with us.

I can confirm that at no time have we exceeded our maximum capacity for guests in the centre at one time.

When booking online you save around 50% off the total cost of admission, which we believe is excellent value for money!
