Just got back from two lovely days at the Wrea Head country house hotel. This was a surprise for me booked by my husband and it was lovely. We stayed in the Ellis suite , which was really spacious and beautiful but above all the focus was a huge bay window overlooking the extensive and beautifully kept gardens.
It immediately felt very peaceful and relaxing. From the moment we arrived the staff were courteous and very attentive. It has only 18 rooms and therefore the whole place has a lovely intimate and friendly feeling, the staff are part of a small team and very welcoming.
We ate in the 1881 restaurant and the food was superb, to say the least. I heartily recommend the 'Taste of Scarborouugh Fair' desert which brought back a whole host of childhood seaside treats.
Situated just a couple of miles outside Scarborough, this is a lovely and luxurious base to explore the local coastline.
I cant praise it highly enough, an absolute gem .More
