We revisited this superb hotel last week for a four night break. We were delighted to find the same very attentive, but not intrusive staff group that had been there when we visited two years ago.Ann manager,Kevin deputy and head chef Andrew, leading a well trained and dedicated staff, nothing too much trouble.Their standards of service and attention to detail excellent. The refurbishments to the Hotel continue, but managed by the owners,in an unobtrusive manner they did not impact on our stay at all.We were allocated one of the finished deluxe rooms(8) .This was a wonderful surprise, given that the last year had been difficult health-wise, for both me and my husband. This stay was just the tonic we needed. We have booked to return at Christmas, and look forward to seeing the further upgrading and sampling the delicious food once again. The finest start to a New Year one could wish for.Our thanks to all the staff, you are 5 star.

My wife and I first visited Wrea Head Hall in 2009 and always relish the opportunity to return. Following the Christmas festivities we decided to retreat to Wrea Head for a welcome respite and were delighted. This hotel just gets better and better, delivering quality service in beautiful surroundings. The restaurant is very relaxing and the food is sublime. Almost tempted NOT to write a review to keep this gem a secret! We will be going back, next time we are in need of R&R.

We stayed here for a post new year celebration with friends. It wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last. Accommodation, food and service was first class. Even though renovations were ongoing the contractors were courteous and as quiet as is possible when redecorating public corridors. High quality furnishings, fittings, bed linen and table ware made this a fabulous country house experience.

Room tip: We loved room 14, very cosy after a soaking in Whitby.

Stayed here for two nights in December 2015. The Hotel is sitauted in it's own grounds just outside Scarborough. The building is late 19th century and has plenty of period charm. The room looked newly refurbished and was modern, spacious, well-equipped and clean. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. The restaurant was a surprise with excellent food for a reasonable price. The menu focusses on locally sourced game so carnivores will enjoy it here. There are vegitarian options which are also extremely good. Overall an excellent stay and we look forward to our second visit

Room tip: Upgrade above the basic room if possible

We originally booked to stay at the Crown Hotel in Scarborough but after arriving and finding the restaurant was closed for the New Year packages we got a refund and looked elsewhere. We found Wrea Head Hall by chance and had not heard of it before. We booked based on the reviews along with the hotels location (only a short drive from Scarborough and Filey) and hoped for the best! On arrival we were greeted by Kevin and taken to our room (Room 14) which was absolutely beautiful. We were supposed to be booked into room 9 but as room 14 was free, they gave us an upgrade at no extra cost. The room was superb. Lovely big bed, fresh white linen, huge deluxe bathroom, and lots of original features. It was better than we imagined. The welcome we received was exceptional with Kevin making sure we were happy with our room before leaving us and explaining the menu for the evening meal etc.
We stayed at the hotel for drinks and the 5 course evening meal which was delicious. Nothing was rushed and it was a very enjoyable evening.
Overall we had a fantastic night away and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks to all the staff. We will certainly be back very soon!
