“A North Yorkshire Gem”
Reviewed 22 May 2012

We revisited this Country House Hotel over the weekend. The cold, damp and unseasonal Yorkshire weather was more than compensated by the warm and friendly greeting we recievend on our arrival. The comfortable ambience of the hotel was immediately apparent, our spacious room was clean and freshly decorated, and the attentive service we received throughout our stay, has convinced us that we will be 'return guests' yet again in the near future.

Room Tip: Delux rooms are quite exceptional, but dont worry, supeior rooms more than acceptable.

We recently enjoyed 2 nights at Wrea Head Hall. It was a peaceful relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent. The dinner menu changes daily. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend. We look forward to returning.

We have just spent a couple of nights at Wrea Head Hall (Mid week Break)
A beautiful Hall with stunning views and fantastic food. The staff and management can not do enough for you. We have had a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: If only it had a Spa it would be more than perfect.

We recently enjoyed our second visit to Wrea Head Hall near Scarborough. If you haven't stayed there, treat yourself to a luxurious weekend or midweek break. A short drive from Scarborough takes you to the Wrea Head, a delightful residence enjoying panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. The staff are very welcoming and the rooms are comfortable and well furnished. Anne and her team meet all requests promptly and efficiently. The breakfasts cater for all tastes with a varied menu. The dinner menu is excellent and changes every day. The food is superb and the refurbishments being implemented by the new owners are both tasteful and stylish. We love staying here and look forward to a return visit very soon.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the Hall have superb views

The insolvency of the group of which WH was part, caused us not to make our usual (for the last 5 years) winter visit. News of new ownership, especially with the retained management team and chef, tempted us back. It is a very good experience and will be outstanding as the tasteful improvements are implemented and the new owners' influence is established, Very refreshing to see valuable changes without in any way detracting from the special ambience and service that was Wrea Head and is now Wrea Head Hall. The food is even more attractive now that Chef Andrew has been liberated from the former Group regime and is allowed and encouraged to demonstate his undoubted talents. (see Restaurant review). All the signs are the answer wil be a very definite- Yes.
