So we decided to get a last minute room as the electricity at home cut off and they couldn't come and fix it until the next day, booked last minute for the very cheap price of £33, and when we arrived we were upgraded to the Brampton Suite for no extra cost! We were checked in by a very lovely guy on the front desk called Jonathan who was very polite and warm and friendly despite having internet issues, he gave a fantastic first impression for our first time at the hotel.

The room was lovely, very big! With a jacuzzi bath and a power shower and his and hers sinks, a sofa, a lovely huge bay window and massive amounts of storage space. It was squeaky clean. The decor seems a little dated but it just gives a really cosy feel and everything was very clean and well maintained and homely.

The only things about the room that the hotel may not be aware about are that the jets in the spa bath don't work, you hit 'on' and it comes on for a couple seconds then goes off again, we couldn't get it to work beyond that. And the bed isn't actually a double, it seems to be two singles together based on the dip in the middle. But those are incredibly minor things and everything else was perfect.

We both felt it was a shame we only had a few hours there before leaving early for work the next day, but given we only went primarily for access to a shower we had a fab time! Would highly recommend to anyone, from the rooms to the cleanliness to the service, it's a beautiful hotel.

Thanks for the upgrade Jonathan, your boss has a star in you :)

Standard of afternoon tea was awful such cheap food, the sandwiches weren't even cut with a knife they almost looked like they had bee pulled apart. Staff were really friendly though can't rate them enough but the standard of food was awful mass produced poor quality.

The Carlton Park Motown tribute night was good fun. The singers (The King & I) had everyone up dancing and were very entertaining.

The 3 course dinner was lovely (3 choices on each of the 3 courses) and the staff were polite and helpful.

Good value for money, great service and an enjoyable night with the girls.

Thanks!

We were attending the King And I Motown event at the hotel and it has to be said that the singers TJ King and Paula Best were very good we really enjoyed dancing thought the decades .

went out for a friends birthday, 2 course buffet, drag queen and stripper and disco. The drag queen was quite good, the two male strippers were ok but i felt that they were on for too long. We barely had any time to dance. The dj was absent more than he was present, every time i went to ask for a request he had disappeared!! The organisation of the food for poor, everyone piled into the conservatory at once, standing ages waiting for tasteless meat pie with 2 potatoes and mushy peas. The saving grace was the cheesecake tasted nice. Over all had a reasonable night but did feel the lack of organisation impinged on the atmosphere. Also bar staff appeared to be a bit clueless.
